Gordon Ryan finally responds to Nick Rodriguez, Craig Jones callouts

As a seasoned gamer who has witnessed countless battles unfold within the realm of virtual combat, I must admit that this real-life grappling match between Gordon Ryan and Nicky Rod Rodriguez, orchestrated by Craig Jones, is reminiscent of an epic boss battle in a video game. The conditions set forth by Ryan are as intricate and demanding as any endgame quest, leaving one wondering if the challengers will ever be able to clear these hurdles.

Recently, Craig Jones, known as Gordon Ryan’s longtime adversary, organized his own Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu event, named the Craig Jones Invitational. Nick “Nicky Rod” Rodriguez emerged victorious in this inaugural tournament, and both Jones and Rodriguez have expressed interest in challenging Gordon Ryan, who was competing at ADCC on the same weekend.

Generally, Ryan seldom interacts with Rodriguez and Jones unless specifically prompted, and even then, he’s vague about potential future bouts. However, in a recent Instagram post, Ryan publicly recognized the two combatants and outlined the conditions required for the $2 million match to materialize.

In the lengthy post, which was accompanied by a clip of Rodriguez getting submitted by Ryan, he wrote his conditions for the fight. “Will say this once and only once. To nicky fraud and can’t win a comp craig- since you both have my [dick] in your mouth 24/7, I have a few proposals for you,” he wrote. “We either do 2 matches on 1 night, both of you either put up 500k or 1 million each, and I’ll put up 1-2 million, depending. We both compete in the same night, and winners take all.”

He went on to say, “If any of you lack the courage to agree, I’d be more than happy to engage in a one-million-dollar match with one of you. It seems quite amusing to me given that NF will have to pay approximately 350 thousand dollars in taxes. I’m aware that pea brain has never earned seven figures before, but even after taxes, you would be left with around 650-700 thousand dollars. Considering you’d need to put at least 20% as a down payment on your million-dollar property, I’d wager that you don’t have 300-350 thousand cash readily available for escrow. This means you’ll likely need someone to sponsor you and provide the necessary funds, and given that I’ve defeated both of you a total of five times, including four submissions, I wish you luck with that.”

Not only that, but Ryan also set certain terms regarding the rules, judging criteria, attire, and scoring system.

“The matches will not rely on judges, there will be minimal referee intervention, and as a result, there will be no time limit. Athletes must wear long-sleeved rash guards and spats without the option to roll them up because four people have accused me of using grease (Mason, Pena, Me, Yuri). The competition will happen only when I’m in good health, and I’ll decide on the date and platform. Until then, keep hoping that you’ll ever reach my level after defeating opponents who can’t advance past the first day at ADCC.”

Additionally, Ryan specified that each individual should react according to the stipulations he had established. In other words, Ryan imposed conditions upon the conditions themselves.

“If you don’t respond here or publicly, I take this as a no, and I will not respond after this unless I get a clear yes or no to this response,” he wrote. “I’m not negotiating. I am the king, you follow my rules, or you shut up. And before you bet your new found “wealth”, make sure you’re not gonna default on an irs payment and end up in jail or homeless, because only one of us has a million to blow, and we all know who that is ;). This is mostly a message to NF, bec we all know Craig’s the ultimate can crusher and wants absolutely nothing to do with any kind of physical confrontation with me. Well, at least craig will be at the academy helping you prepare for the camp just like he did for cgi and adcc… oh wait…”

It’s clear that no one could agree to these terms, as I don’t even fully grasp half of them myself. Ryan seems to be implying that it’s Jones or Rodriguez who might not want to engage because they can hardly meet all the conditions that Ryan has set out here.

As I write this, neither Rodriguez nor Jones have gotten back to us yet, but boy, are we excited for their responses! It’s going to be quite the ride!
