Gordon Ramsay follows in swimmer son-in-law Adam Peaty’s footsteps as he hits the pool while training for Ironman

Inspired by his son-in-law, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, Gordon Ramsay started training for an Ironman by going for a swim.

Olympic swimmer Adam married Holly Ramsay, chef Gordon Ramsay’s daughter, on December 27th, officially becoming part of the Ramsay family.

Ever since Adam’s difficult family issues came to light, people have been talking about his close relationship with his father-in-law.

Gordon now appears to be modeling his swimming after his son-in-law, a three-time Olympic gold medalist in breaststroke.

Gordon spent the weekend training at the pool, getting ready for an Ironman competition. This incredibly challenging race involves swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112 miles, and then running a full 26.22-mile marathon – all in one day.

On Saturday, Gordon posted a shirtless photo of himself to his Instagram Story. The picture was taken at the pool inside the Toronto Athletic Club in Canada.

Gordon shared a video of his personalized swimming cap, hinting at his preparation for the Ironman competition taking place later this year in Costa Navarino, Greece.

Gordon also shared a photo of his fitness watch which showed he had swam 2000m in 33 minutes.

When Adam married Tana in 1996, many people noticed a strong family resemblance between him and his new father-in-law.

Gordon, now 59, was 30 years old when he tied the knot, just a year younger than Adam, 31, now.

The two men looked remarkably alike on their wedding days. Gordon’s hairstyle was nearly the same as the one Adam has now.

Adam wore a classic tuxedo, and Gordon chose a grey suit with a striped tie.

The celebrity chef recently revealed that Adam calls him ‘dad’ amid the fall out with his parents.

She explained that he feels Adam is like a son to him now that Adam has married Holly, rather than feeling he’s lost a daughter.

He shared with Gaby Roslin’s podcast, Reasons To Be Joyful, that his son now refers to him as ‘dad.’ The son recently texted him, asking what he was up to and if he’d be available later, addressing him as ‘Hey dad.’

Honestly, seeing them together just takes my breath away! It’s like, wow. They’re the most gorgeous couple, seriously a dream come true – not just for me, but for my friend Tana too. We’re completely obsessed!

In a sign of their close bond, Gordon publicly threw his support behind his new son-in-law.

Adam gave a heartfelt speech, saying he would always stand by his wife, which led Gordon to publicly express his affection and encouragement.

The groom looked very moved as Holly walked down the aisle with her father, and he was seen wiping away tears.

Gordon left a comment on the video saying, ‘Beautiful words @adamramsaypeaty @hollyramsaypeaty! True love ❤️ Congratulations, and I love you both so much, Dad ❤️’

This follows a harsh criticism from Adam’s aunt after reports surfaced that he’s been referring to Gordon as ‘Dad’ during their current family dispute.

The Peaty family is experiencing significant tension after Adam decided not to invite his parents, Caroline and Mark, to his wedding to Holly Gordon, which took place in December. This decision came to light in November.

With their conflict still ongoing, Gordon, fresh off the release of his Netflix documentary about the Olympian, shared that Adam has begun referring to him as ‘Dad.’ Caroline’s sister, Louise Williams, criticized this as overly flattering and insincere.

Louise shared on Threads about the sacrifices made by a bricklayer named Mark. She explained that he worked incredibly hard, even to the point of injuring his hands, to afford swimming lessons.

She expressed her dismay, writing, “Oh Adam, your poor father. How could you do that? He worked so incredibly hard, even to the point of hurting his hands, so you could follow your dreams…”

‘He worked long long days as a brickie – a hard laborious back breaking job.

‘He did it without moan or complaint.’
