Good Morning Britain adds a new presenter to its line-up

Good Morning Britain has a new main presenter – Paul Brand. He’s already well-known to viewers of the ITV show, and is now taking on a full-time position as the program moves forward.

According to The Sun, ITV News’ UK editor, Julie Etchingham, will present the show one day a week, although the specific day hasn’t been announced yet. She has filled in as a presenter on the show before, most recently when Richard Madeley was unavailable.

According to a spokesperson (as reported by The Sun), Paul has been a guest on GMB since 2022, alongside his work as the UK Editor for ITV News. He will continue to make occasional appearances on the show in 2026.

Currently, Ed Balls and Susanna Reid host Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday. Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley take over on Thursdays, and Kate Garraway co-hosts with Ranvir Singh on Fridays.

Earlier this year, the show was revamped as ITV reorganized its daytime TV schedule. As part of these changes, each episode was made longer – either by 30 minutes or a full hour.

For over 40 years, daytime television has been a key part of ITV’s programming, and these changes will ensure ITV continues to deliver award-winning news, opinions, and discussions to its viewers, according to Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment.

He explained that these changes will help us combine our news teams and increase the amount of national, international, and local news we produce, all while continuing our tradition of reliable reporting.

I’m hearing that Russell Brand is going to be a regular on Good Morning Britain! It’s a bit sad though, because it means Richard Gaisford is leaving after being on the show for an incredible 26 years – his last episode will be in December. So, a new face with Russell, but goodbye to a long-time presenter!
