The Australian version of The Golden Bachelor, with Samantha Armytage as host, will now premiere in September.
Viewers have eagerly awaited a second season ever since the first season’s successful debut last year, which saw Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden fall in love with Sunny Long.
Viewers might have to wait longer for the show than expected. The Daily Telegraph reports that the 2026 premiere has been delayed twice.
The second season is already generating buzz, with one of the contestants quickly becoming a fan favorite.
Nine has chosen Mathew Collett, a co-founder of Solar D, and Ed Savage, a logistics manager, as the two lead actors this year.
You know, while Savage has been quietly delivering solid work, Collett has really grabbed everyone’s attention with their performance on the show. It’s been amazing to watch them become such a talked-about name!
The 58-year-old father of three has had a lively romantic history, with relationships linked to several well-known women over the years.
Collett has been romantically connected to several well-known women over the years, including TV personality Adene Cassidy, public relations expert Sally Burleigh, and Sophie Ward, who comes from a wealthy family.
People who know Collett well say he’s not the carefree bachelor some people imagine him to be.
According to a source close to Collett, he’s been a very dedicated father to his three children, all of whom are now in their 20s.
He’s been involved with the media for a while and understands any action he takes will draw public scrutiny. His biggest worry is how this attention will affect his family.
Daily Mail has reached out to Nine for comment.
Earlier this year, police and local council officers visited the set of The Golden Bachelor in Sydney due to a disagreement between the show’s producers and nearby residents about loud noise.
People living near the Golden Bachelor filming location complained about loud karaoke and parties that went on all night during the show’s production.
Should reality shows respect neighbourhood peace or is exciting TV worth the disruption to locals?
What’s your view?
In February, things escalated when one neighbor responded to a dispute by playing a loud trumpet in their yard as a form of protest.
A resident mentioned that things have been consistently disrupted in the neighborhood ever since the film crew showed up at the beginning of the month.
‘Originally you heard them building frames and installing all the lights. But what really tipped me over the edge was the first night they met the Bachelor,’ the resident said.
It was late Tuesday night, and they were out celebrating until 4 in the morning. I woke up thinking children were yelling, but it turned out to be the women having fun with karaoke and cheering loudly.
‘It is beyond disrespectful. They have huge speakers and have even had live bands.’
Oh my god, I heard from a source at the City of Sydney – they finally admitted people are complaining! Apparently, there have been ‘several’ complaints from the neighbors near his waterfront mansion. Several! Can you believe it? They’re finally noticing what’s been going on, and it’s all because of him and everything surrounding that place. I knew it! I just knew people were talking!
Following the complaints received, City of Sydney staff spoke with the production company about acceptable noise levels, according to a spokesperson.
We’ll keep a close watch on filming to make sure it follows the rules and doesn’t disturb local residents.
Warner Bros. sent a letter to nearby residents stating that music would no longer be played, following conversations with the local council and police.
