Gold Coast influencer Ashy Bines reveals devastating news after brain surgery on aneurysm: 'I can't count how many times I've cried'

As a fan who has followed Ashy Bines’ journey from afar, it’s heart-wrenching to see her going through such a difficult time. I can only imagine the rollercoaster of emotions she must be experiencing, especially with the revelation of the second aneurysm. It’s a stark reminder of how fragile life truly is and how unexpected challenges can appear when we least expect them.

Gold Coast social media personality Ashy Bines experienced deep sorrow after discovering, during her brain surgery for an aneurysm, that medical professionals had discovered a second aneurysm.

A 35-year-old woman who has two children was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in March following a sudden loss of vision. Her surgery, initially planned for July, was later rescheduled to August.

On Instagram, Ashy shared a video on Wednesday, disclosing that doctors had successfully extracted the initial aneurysm; however, during the operation, they found a second one which they couldn’t remove at that time.

She shared with her audience, in a heartfelt video while recovering from surgery, that things had gone smoothly during the operation. But when she came to, they informed her that they’d unexpectedly discovered another aneurysm.

Today, they handled the first one, however, they weren’t able to address the second one. It’s probable that I’ll need another operation before the year ends.

I find it hard to keep track, but countless times I’ve wept due to my immense sadness. However, I muster up my strength, remembering that I am capable of overcoming challenges and moving forward from this difficult situation.

“I’m incredibly thankful that the aneurysms in both locations were discovered, as it means I’ll have a chance for surgery. It’s clear that without treatment, they could potentially be lethal.”

Ashy went on to say the recovery process was much more difficult that she anticipated following her brain surgery, revealing that she has been awake for 28 hours straight.

“I didn’t anticipate just how tough the post-surgery recuperation would be – aside from the period when I was anesthetized for the operation, I’ve essentially been awake for over 28 hours now. I underestimated how both mentally and physically demanding this process would be.”

As per the Mayo Clinic, a brain aneurysm refers to a swelling or ballooning in the lining of an artery within the brain that’s filled with blood. If this aneurysm bursts, it can cause a life-threatening stroke.

Aneurysms in the brain are relatively frequent, and they typically don’t show any noticeable signs or symptoms. However, if they burst, they can turn into a critical situation that requires immediate medical attention to prevent loss of life.

Approximately three months past, Ashy disclosed to her followers that she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm following a loss of vision which led to a hospital visit.

In that moment, she shared a video of her family’s arrival, accompanied by concerning phrases: ‘For the past week, I’ve experienced blindness three times. Fearing for my health, I decided to consult a physician.’

After receiving a CT scan, they detected a tiny aneurysm. It’s quite alarming because my husband Steve had a large one surgically removed, and there seems to be a history of aneurysms in our family. I sadly lost both a young uncle and grandmother due to aneurysms.

Ashy shared that Steve, along with their kids Taj and Tala, fully backed her. Notably, both children had made a visit to her at the hospital.
