Amy Tapper looked fantastic, revealing she’s lost a significant amount of weight – eight stone – after using the weight loss medication Mounjaro.
The 26-year-old former Gogglebox participant has lost weight, going from a size 26 to a size 18, by taking medication and exercising regularly.
Amy posted a photo on Instagram Wednesday showing herself relaxing in a field and enjoying the spring weather.
The star wore a white shirt and matching T-shirt with dark blue jeans as she beamed at the camera.
She captioned the post: ‘Anyone else been in an extremely good mood today?’
Amy was inundated with comments from her followers praising her weight loss transformation.
Oh my gosh, someone actually said it! They wrote ‘You look amazing!’ and I just… I completely agree! Another person chimed in, saying the same thing, and added a little heart – like they get it! They said I absolutely smashed it, and honestly? I feel like I did. It’s just… everything about this is perfect.
I was so interested to hear Amy talk about her health journey! She shared that she was actually considering gastric bypass surgery, but then her doctors suggested a weight loss injection instead. It’s amazing to hear about different options people are exploring.
Although Amy has achieved significant weight loss and found success, she now has excess skin and plans to have surgery to address it.
She told the Daily Mail that losing a significant amount of weight – eight stone, and she expects to lose more – means there will be excess skin that exercise won’t be able to fix.
‘It’s not possible, you know? It’s stones and stones of fat and it’s now just skin.
I’ll likely need surgery on my arms and stomach eventually, but thankfully my legs are doing alright.
She jokingly added: ‘These little side bad boys are really toning up.’
The TV personality, who became famous at age 13, is facing criticism online with some accusing her of using weight loss injections as a shortcut. However, she maintains that she’s consistently been exercising to achieve her results.
It has also helped her try and tone some of the loose skin on her body.
Amy said: ‘I’ve been with the same personal trainer for five years.
I enjoy going to the gym regardless, and it significantly improves my mental well-being each week, especially when combined with using Mounjaro.
Amy has been taking a 15mg weekly dose since February, which she worked her way up to from 2.5mg.
She lost five pounds in just one week while using the medication, and after six months, she had lost a total of four stone.
I’m still focused on eating healthier and being more active, and when combined with the weight loss medication, it’s working really well – they’re a great combination.
Amy is working with the online pharmacy Chemist4U to take back the phrase ‘eat less, move more.’ This comes after research showed that 70% of people taking medication for weight loss feel criticized for using it.
DJ Fat Tony created a new house music track, appropriately titled ‘Already Doing It,’ for the campaign, and Amy appears in the accompanying music video.
Amy has been publicly documenting her weight loss journey, and many of her followers have praised her as inspirational. However, she’s also received negative and critical comments online.
Sadly, the scrutiny has caused considerable damage to Amy’s mental health.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain last month, she became emotional and stated that she considers herself strong-willed and capable of being far more self-critical than anyone else.
Of course this impacts me. I’m only human, and while I can be strong and confident, after working so hard on something, I can’t help but find the humor in it all.
She explained that online harassment disrupts her peace of mind and feels like a personal attack, especially when people criticize her healthy lifestyle choices of eating less and moving more.
Combining lifestyle changes with weight loss medication seems like a great approach, so it’s unclear why people are concerned about it.
She urged others not to place too much power in the opinion of others.
‘I think you’re doomed if you do and doomed if you don’t so why not just do it?’ she concluded.
Chemist4U has started a big campaign to fight bullying. They’ve teamed up with the National Bullying Helpline, DJ Fat Tony, and Gogglebox’s Amy Tapper, and are encouraging people to take back the phrase ‘eat less, move more’ – often used negatively – and use it in a positive way.
