Excitement is building for the next Godzilla movie! The first look at the film will be shown at CinemaCon next month, giving fans a sneak peek at what’s to come in this continuing series.

Godzilla Minus Zero to unveil first look on April 14

Next month, industry professionals will get a first look at footage from the new Godzilla movie, Godzilla Minus Zero. The film will be previewed during the opening session of CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 14th.

GKIDS will be showing a preview of the new film at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, according to Variety. Director Takashi Yamazaki, who recently won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for Godzilla Minus One, is scheduled to introduce it. He’s also directing, writing, and leading the visual effects for this new project.

Attendees at the convention will get a first look at the movie, which is still being made. As is typical with CinemaCon previews, this footage probably won’t be available online.

CinemaCon is also showcasing the closer partnership between GKIDS and Japan’s Toho studio. Toho acquired GKIDS in 2024, which will allow for even stronger distribution of Japanese films, especially those featuring Godzilla. The film itself is a collaboration between Toho Studios and Robot Communications, with visual effects created by Shirogumi Inc.

Michael O’Leary, head of Cinema United, believes the movie industry’s success relies on consistently offering a wide variety of films that appeal to global audiences. He highlights GKIDS as a company dedicated to providing those diverse options for moviegoers.

As a movie critic, I’m excited to share that the latest Godzilla film, Godzilla Minus Zero, is hitting theaters first in Japan on November 3, 2026, courtesy of Toho. Luckily, we in North America won’t have to wait long – GKIDS is bringing it to our screens just three days later, on November 6, 2026. Mark your calendars, folks – this is one monster movie event you won’t want to miss!
