Gigi Hadid breaks silence on her appearance in the Epstein files: ‘Disgusting’

Gigi Hadid has publicly addressed being named in documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, saying the revelation made her feel deeply disturbed.

Both the 30-year-old supermodel and her sister, Bella, were mentioned in a December 2015 email between Jeffrey Epstein and another person whose name was hidden in documents released by the Department of Justice.

In response to a fan comment on an Instagram post from March 29th, Hadid publicly shared her feelings about how she felt regarding her appearance in files related to Jeffrey Epstein, whom she described as a ‘disgusting human being’.

The fan had written, ‘I had to unfollow u bc u ain’t talk bout those files Gigi.’ 

‘Horrible to read someone you’ve never met speak about you that way. Especially in this context,’ the star wrote in a message which appears to have since been taken down, per E! News. 

The mother explained she hadn’t spoken up earlier because she didn’t want to overshadow the experiences of genuine victims. However, a recent comment made her realize people might be confused, and she felt it was important to clarify things.

Hadid told a fan she was raised with advantages, but her parents also made sure she understood the importance of working hard and shielded her from the downsides of her privilege.

‘The same hard work that got them to this country and gave them careers,’ she continued. 

This media personality is the daughter of Yolanda and Mohamed Hadid, who are well-known figures – Yolanda from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Mohamed as a real estate developer.

The celebrity shared with the fan the story of how she and her sister both started their careers as models.

Just before my 18th birthday, I applied to modeling agencies in New York City, and my mom drove me to the meetings. She had actually worked with two of them – Marylins and Ford – earlier in her own career.

Hadid recalled meeting with 10 agencies but only a few offered a contract including IMG Models. 

The supermodel shared that she joined IMG in 2012 and has been working diligently ever since.

She added that when the email exchange had occurred, she had only been around 20 or 21-years-old. 

Finding my name mentioned in those files – I believe I was around 20 or 21 years old when that email was written – is deeply upsetting. I want to be absolutely clear: I have never been associated with that awful person.

In a separate comment, Hadid also told the fan: ‘sending love thanks for your support x.’

Daily Mail has reached out to a rep for Hadid, but did not immediately hear back. 

In a December 2015 email, someone whose name has been removed wrote to Epstein, asking how the Hadid sisters achieved success and earned so much money as models, expressing confusion about their rise to prominence.

The discredited financier just said, ‘You know,’ and the other person responded in writing, ‘Dad paid the agency.’

Epstein simply replied, ‘No,’ and then explained, ‘They just do what they’re told, that’s all there is to it.’

Shortly after replying to a fan on Instagram, Hadid was seen out and about in New York City this Friday.

She looked effortlessly chic in a dark navy shirt, light blue jeans, and a tan coat.

Hadid also wore burgundy loafers and carried a yellow purse on her shoulder.

She wore her blonde hair in a simple bun, which showed off her dangling earrings. She completed the look with a stylish pair of sunglasses.

Hadid has been quite busy lately and was recently spotted with her boyfriend, Bradley Cooper, in New York City.

Rumors of a relationship between the couple began in 2023, and they’ve been spotted together on multiple occasions since then.

Last March, Gigi Hadid shared some personal details about her relationship, telling Vogue that she and her partner have a truly loving and joyful connection.

Honestly, it’s just amazing when you meet someone who knows what they want, and you do too! It’s not about needing each other, but choosing to be together, and both of you working on yourselves so you can be the best possible partners. I feel so incredibly lucky to have found that – it’s just… perfect.

The model expressed great respect for him as an artist, saying he’s a constant source of encouragement and believes in her abilities.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik previously had a relationship and share a five-year-old daughter named Khai.

In February, Malik revealed he’d never felt ‘in love’ with his ex-partner, but stated he’ll always have affection for her as they continue to raise their daughter together.

Cooper is also dad to daughter Lea, nine, whom he welcomed with ex Irina Shayk.
