Varka is a new 5-star character in Genshin Impact, introduced in Version 6.4. He’s a powerful, on-field damage dealer who uses a Claymore and relies on infusing his attacks with Anemo energy. Genshin Impact Varka Build Guide: Kit explained

Varka is a powerful character who primarily deals damage on the battlefield. He uses Anemo attacks combined with another elemental type. His abilities center around his skill, which changes the element of his claymore—it can become infused with Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo depending on the other characters in your team. Specifically, if your team includes Hydro, Pyro, and Electro characters, his claymore will be infused with Pyro.

Varka’s elemental infusions prioritize elements in this order, from strongest to weakest: Pyro, Hydro, Electro, and Cryo. Pyro is his most powerful infusion, while Cryo is the least. Below is a detailed explanation of how his Burst, Skill, and passive abilities work.

Elemental Burst (Low level-up priority )

Varka’s ultimate ability hits enemies in a wide area with both Anemo damage and an additional elemental effect. While the animation is visually impressive – it’s one of the longest in the game at 2.5 seconds – the actual damage output is quite low, making it less effective in challenging, late-game content.

Elemental Skill (Highest level-up priority)

He deals damage primarily through his abilities. When he uses his skill, both of his claymores become infused with elemental energy – one with Anemo, and the other with a different element. This allows him to perform two powerful, charged attacks, each with a unique elemental infusion, resulting in significant damage.

Basic Attack (Lowest level-up priority)

Deals physical damage.

Passive Talents

  • Dawn Wind’s March: With his passive, he can convert every 1,000 ATK into a 10% Anemo and Elemental DMG bonus based on the infused element. Maximum 25% damage bonus can be obtained that way.
  • Wind’s Vanguard: Swirl reactions give stacks, which increase his special attack damage by 7.5%. Maximum 4 Stacks.
  • Homebound Wind’s Paean: Every Mondstadt character reduces Varka Skill cool-down by 5%.

C6 After using his elemental skill, he instantly gets a special charge attack, and he also gets his elemental skill after using a special charge attack.

Because of his passive talent, Wind’s Vanguard, he will gain 80% Crit Damage.

This constellation smooths his rotation and also increases his damage by several folds.

Genshin Impact Varka Build Guide: Best in-slot weapon

Weapon Effects
Gest of the Mighty Wolf (5*) Varka’s signature weapon is his best in-slot weapon. It provides everything that he needs.

Increase ATK SPD by 10%. Every time the equipping character’s Normal Attack or Elemental attack hits, the opponent gains a stack of Four Winds’ Hymn.

Wearer can gain 7.5% damage bonus for every stack. Maximum 4 stacks.

Additionally, when the party has the “Hexerei: Secret Rite” effect, each stack of Four Winds’ Hymn will increase the CRIT DMG of the equipping character by 7.5%.
Beacon of the Reed Sea (5*) It’s Dehy’s signature weapon. At this moment, we can only get this weapon from the Sumeru Chronicle weapon banner. It’s a very good alternative if you have this weapon.

After the character’s Elemental Skill hits an opponent, their ATK will be increased by 20% for 8s. After the character takes DMG, their ATK will be increased by 20% for 8s.

Additionally, when not protected by a shield, the character’s Max HP increases by 32%.
A Thousand Blazing Suns (5*) It’s Mauvika’s signature weapon and a very good alternative weapon for Varka.

Gain the “Scorching Brilliance” effect when using an Elemental Skill or Burst: CRIT DMG increased by 20%, and ATK increased by 28% for 6s.

Its duration is increased by 2s after Normal or Charged attacks deal Elemental DMG.

Especially for F2P players who don’t have any other weapons.

 Increases ATK by 20%. On hit, attacks against opponents with less than 30% HP increase all party members’ ATK by 40% for 12s. Can only occur once every 30s.
Serpent Spine (4*) It’s a good 4* alternative weapon option.

Every 4s a character is on the field, they will deal 10% more DMG and take 2% more DMG. This effect has a maximum of 5 stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field.

A Day Carved from Rising Winds It’s his best in-slot artifact. It provides 43% attack buff and 20% Crit Rate Buff.

2-Piece: ATK +18%.

4-Piece: After a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill, or Elemental Burst hits an opponent, gain the Blessing of Pastoral Winds effect for 6s: ATK is increased by 25%.

If the equipping character has completed Witch’s Homework.

Blessing of Pastoral Winds will be upgraded to Resolve of Pastoral Winds, which also increases the CRIT Rate of the equipping character by an additional 20%. This effect can be triggered even when the character is off-field.
A Day Carved from Rising Winds 2-Piece + Gladiator’s Finale 2-Piece If you don’t have the A Day Carved from Rising Winds 4-piece set, then it’s a good choice for Varka.

Both of this artifact 2-piece set, provide a 36% attack buff, which is beneficial for Varka.
Gladiator’s Finale It’s the best artifact option for those who don’t have any A Day Carved from Rising Winds pieces.

2-Piece: ATK +18%.
4-Piece: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore, or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.

As for her Main Stats and Sub-Stats:

  • Timepiece: ATK% (Minimum 2.5k attack recomended)
  • Goblet: Anemo DMG Bonus% / ATK% (If you are able to reach 2.5k without goblet use Anemo DMG Bonus%)
  • Circlet: CD/CR (Minimum CD 180 to 200%, CR 60% if you are using A Day Carved from Rising Winds set)
  • Substat Priority: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG > ATK% > Elemental Mastery / Energy Recharge

  • Second Buff: If the Varka team has another Anemo character other than Varka, his damage increases by another 80%.
  • Hexerei Synergy: Varka skill cooldown reduced if the team has 2 Hexerei characters.

Double Pyro Team

This team centers around Varka, who deals significant damage. His ability, Dawn Wind’s March, boosts his damage by 220%. Durin and Venti act as secondary damage dealers, while the support characters provide both damage and buffs. Bennett, as a support, offers a substantial attack boost to the team.

Double Hydro Team

Okay, so I’ve been experimenting with Varka, and I’ve found a really solid team comp! He gets a huge boost from his own passive, which is awesome. I’m running him with Furina, Yelan, and Mona – they all bring damage alongside their support abilities. The best part? Jean’s healing completely takes care of Furina’s HP drain, so I don’t have to worry about that at all. It’s a really smooth and powerful setup!

F2p Team

This team works well even if you haven’t unlocked Varka’s best upgrades. Bennett boosts the team’s damage, and when paired with Xiangling, they activate a powerful passive ability called Dawn Wind’s March. Xiangling serves as our secondary damage dealer. Sucrose helps by shortening Varka’s ability cooldowns and making Pyro damage from swirling attacks even stronger.

Is Varka Worth Pulling in Genshin Impact

Whether he’s worth using really depends on what you need in your team. He’s not a straightforward damage dealer who relies solely on Anemo attacks. Instead, he does most of his damage by creating elemental reactions when he swirls with other elements. While he might not be as powerful as some of the newest top-tier damage dealers, he’s versatile and can work well in teams focused on different elemental types. His effectiveness is heavily influenced by his teammates. He isn’t essential to pull for, but he’s a solid choice for exploring the world and can deal respectable damage.
