Genshin Impact Capturing Radiance and Tips to get 5-star characters easily
As a seasoned player who’s spent countless hours traversing Teyvat, I must say, HoYoverse has truly outdone themselves with this new “Capturing Radiance” feature in Genshin Impact! This is like striking gold for us players! The increased odds of getting that elusive 5* character after a loss in the 50/50 is a game-changer.
In the realm of gaming, the title “Genshin Impact” stands out, developed by HoYoverse, a Chinese game developer. This free-to-play Role-Playing Game (RPG) frequently hosts live broadcasts prior to each update. These live streams offer valuable insights about the new features and enhancements coming with the next version, including any fresh characters or map additions.
What is the new Capturing Radiance in Genshin Impact
How does the limited-character banner work
Hey there, fellow gamer! Let me break down how this limited-character banner system works. You see, several of these limited-edition banners could be active at once, and they all share the same pity count. When you score a 5-star character, there’s a 50/50 chance it’ll be the featured character or just a regular one from the standard pool.
In simpler terms, this concept is known as “flipping a coin” because there’s a 50% chance. If you lose the coin toss once, when you obtain a 5-star character next, it will be a promotional one. However, if you get a 5-star character from this guaranteed draw after losing the coin toss once, then the next time you get a 5-star character, you’ll have to go through the 50% chance again. This flowchart, although it is now 3 years old, effectively illustrates the pity system of the limited character banner.
How does the Capturing Radiance mechanic affect the limited character banner
In simpler terms, if a 50/50 outcome doesn’t go in your favor, there’s approximately a 10% likelihood that Capturing Radiance will activate, rewarding you with the promotional character. The game refers to this situation as a “50/50 win.” When you receive another 5-star character, you’ll encounter the 50/50 chance once more. In essence, after losing one attempt, you get another opportunity to obtain the promotional character.
The chance of activating Radiance is merely 1 out of 10 whenever you suffer a loss in a 50/50 scenario. If it doesn’t activate, then that signifies you’ve used up your second opportunity. There isn’t any unique animation to indicate losing the second chance. This flowchart illustrates the two opportunities available for acquiring the promotional 5-star character.
Final Thoughts
With Capturing Radiance, you’re granted an additional opportunity to secure the promotional character, bumping up your odds from 50% to approximately 55%. Having a slightly improved shot at acquiring your desired character is certainly advantageous. Previously, it was a coin flip, but now, there’s always a bit more hope for reversing any misfortune.
