Okay, so these lights are seriously cool. They’re built to withstand a little weather – IP44 rated means they can handle splashes, which is awesome for outdoor gaming setups. Plus, they last for up to 10 hours on a charge, so I don’t have to worry about them dying mid-game. What’s even better is they’re made from this plant-based material – it’s like, eco-friendly gaming! It’s made from sugarcane, and it’s not genetically modified, which is a nice touch.
For ten years, California-based lighting company Gantri has been a leader in modern, US-made lighting, and they’re continuing to innovate beyond their custom design program and use of 3D-printed, plant-based materials. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, Gantri recently launched Gantri Wireless at the TIWA gallery during NYCxDesign.
This new line of wireless lamps was created with San Francisco-based design firm Ammunition. The goal was to deliver the same quality of light and elegant design as traditional lamps, but without the hassle of cords. The collection includes 10 different lamp styles and features a new technology called Gantri Helia™, setting a new standard for portable lighting. The core of this technology, the Gantri Helia™ H1 Engine, is a self-contained unit that includes the battery, wireless connections (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), and a powerful LED light.
These lamps offer up to 1000 lumens of brightness and can run for as long as 10 hours on a single charge. They rest on a stable, stainless steel charging base with a soft, fog-like color. You can choose between warm (2700K) and soft white (3200K) light, and the high CRI (90+) ensures colors look natural. Built to withstand splashes (IP44 rated), the technology inside is encased in Gantri’s unique PlantPolymers, made from sustainably sourced sugarcane.
Ammunition, a design studio recognized with a National Design Award and led by Robert Brunner and Matt Rolandso, created a collection of hardware with shapes inspired by California’s mid-century modern aesthetic. The designs are grouped into three styles – Drift, Pier, and Eave. Drift features gentle, rounded forms like smoothed stones, while Pier uses intersecting angles that echo coastal buildings. Eave is the most directly architectural, drawing inspiration from classic California homes, including bungalow porches and Victorian details. The collection is available in five colors inspired by the California landscape: Spruce, Manzanita, Lilac, Magnolia, and Lichen.
You can now pre-order the complete Gantri Wireless collection from the Gantri website, with prices starting at $248. Items are expected to ship in Fall 2026.
