As the 2026 FIFA World Cup nears, the difference between soccer cleats and everyday sneakers is disappearing. Nike is leading this trend with its new CryoShot design—a shoe that takes classic soccer boots and covers the spikes with clear rubber, making them look like regular sneakers. To mark the tournament, Nike has partnered with well-known artists and designers from around the world, each representing their country. For South Korea, the design comes from G-DRAGON and his PEACEMINUSONE brand, who are reimagining a classic Nike boot.
For his collaboration with Nike, G-DRAGON brought back the CTR360 boot. Although Nike no longer makes this model, it’s still loved by serious soccer players for being one of their most comfortable and high-performing designs. G-DRAGON’s version, called PeaceMinusOne, pays tribute to the boot’s history while adding a modern, streetwear-inspired look.
The biggest change to the PEACEMINUSONE x Nike CryoShot is the new material used for the upper. Instead of the synthetic materials typically used for playing sports, this version is made entirely with natural fibers. The design has also been adjusted slightly to make it better suited as an everyday shoe. The sneaker has a clean, simple look with a soft off-white color as its base. Bright red accents on the Nike Swoosh logo and the visible cleats on the translucent sole add a striking contrast.
G-DRAGON’s contribution is just one part of Nike’s huge World Cup collection, which features designs from top fashion names around the globe. Besides his PEACEMINUSONE line, the collection includes special country-inspired pieces created by brands like Patta (Netherlands), Virgil Abloh (USA), Jacquemus (France), Nocta (Canada), Palace (England), and Slawn (Nigeria).
G-DRAGON once again shows his creative talent by turning a classic football boot into stylish streetwear. The PEACEMINUSONE x Nike CryoShot highlights South Korean culture to the world and perfectly fits the growing popularity of football-inspired fashion, especially as summer approaches.
