I’m so excited! A new trailer just dropped for season two of Bergerac! It’s the reboot of the classic ’80s crime show, and it looks amazing. The show is set in Jersey and stars Damien Molony – you might recognize him from The Splits. This season, his character, Detective Jim Bergerac, is really struggling after the death of his wife (which happened before the show even started, apparently). It seems like that grief is what drove a lot of his bad decisions in season one, and we’re going to see how he deals with everything now. Can’t wait for it to come out this spring!
Zoë Wanamaker plays Jim’s difficult mother-in-law, Charlie Hungerford, and Chloé Sweetlove plays his daughter, Kim Bergerac.
The latest trailer delivers on the streamer’s promise of mystery, suspense, and surprises, revealing the detective is still haunted by past events. In the second season, Jim will be juggling a new investigation with the challenges of finding romance.
What to Read Next
Picking up after the dramatic first series, Jim Bergerac returns to investigate a particularly difficult case when a shocking incident occurs at a wedding on Jersey.
With Kim’s support, Jim has cautiously begun dating again, even though he still deeply misses his late wife. He doesn’t really expect to find someone new, and feels he’s doing it more to please Kim than for himself. However, when he meets Nicola, a visitor to the island, a connection sparks. Could this be a turning point for Jim Bergerac?

Meanwhile, Bergerac’s strong-willed mother-in-law, Charlie Hungerford, is experiencing a new romance with a lively and delightful man named Nigel.
Just after meeting Nicola, Bergerac finds himself investigating a new murder: the groom at a wedding has been found dead in his hotel room. Investigators hope the groom’s last words might reveal who killed him, and Jersey is counting on Bergerac to solve the case.
This season’s cast includes Lesley Sharp, known for her role in Red Eye, Georgina Rich from Malpractice, along with Jonathan Aris, Charles Dale, and Turlough Convery.

Brian Constantine, the executive producer of Bergerac, said they were thrilled with the show’s first season, which drew 2.4 million viewers over six episodes. He told the BBC News that this level of viewership is considered very successful within the television industry.
He explained that Jersey is essential to the show’s story, stating, “You can’t have Bergerac without Jersey,” and emphasized the importance of filming there.
Constantine shared his wish for the show to have a long and successful run with its second season, and to further establish New Jersey’s positive image around the world.
Bergerac season 1 is available to stream on U and Channel 4. Season 2 returns in the spring.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-color 100-page tribute to Taylor Swift, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
