One such essential material is Fucium Ore, which is just one example among several you’ll require for upgrading your gear effectively.
As a devoted enthusiast, I must say that unlike the abundant resources in Monster Hunter Wilds, I gather Fucium Ore from dispersed Mining Outcrops across the map. The materials I obtain are randomly selected, but each Mining Outcrop generously yields three different resources once harvested.

How to get Fucium Ore in Monster Hunter Wilds
To gather Fucium Ore in the game Monster Hunter Wilds, you need to venture into the Ruins of Wyveria region, but remember that you must have advanced to the High Rank zone. Just like other resources, we’ve found that it’s not possible to obtain Fucium Ore in the Low Rank areas.
In the main tale, you explore the Ruins of Wyveria area, but afterwards, it’s not instantly accessible. You can only revisit the Ruins of Wyveria when your Hunter Rank reaches 20. Before that point, trying to go there will have your character say they will “leave it for the Astrum Unit” to investigate instead.
As a dedicated miner, I’ve come to appreciate the fact that Mining Outcrops rejuvenate every quarter of an hour, offering another opportunity for harvesting. However, given how precious Fucium Ore is, it’s always best to aim for a successful initial extraction rather than waiting for the next refresh.
Even though Fucium Ore isn’t traceable as a specific material, you can establish a destination point for any Mining Outcrop marked on the map. Your Seikret will autonomously navigate there when mounted. If you don’t have many Mining Outcrops located yet, feel free to use the interactive map above for guidance.
In the Wyveria region, Fucium Ore-rich Mining Outcrops can be discovered across various ruins. Notably, some of these outcrops are conveniently situated near the Base Camp in the first level, making them exceptionally easy to exploit due to their proximity.
As a gamer, I chose to stick closer to Base Camp, focusing my explorations on the nearby Mining Outcrops. Diving into Optional Quests helped pass the time while I waited for deeper areas to respawn, keeping me from getting too distracted by venturing further.
