Kate Hudson was seen in Los Angeles on Tuesday, shortly after learning she hadn’t won an Academy Award. She had been nominated for Best Actress for her role in the film Song Sung Blue, which sparked some debate.
The 46-year-old actress showed off a natural look, going without makeup and wearing comfortable clothes.
It marked a stark contrast from her glamorous display on Sunday at the 98th annual Oscars.
Hudson had naturally wavy blonde hair that cascaded over her shoulders.
She was wearing a comfortable, long-sleeved shirt in a light beige color and had a white reusable water bottle with her.
I was really rooting for the Hollywood veteran, but Jessie Buckley took home the Best Actress award – and deservedly so! Her performance in Hamnet was absolutely captivating.
Kate Hudson was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 2001 for her performance as Penny Lane in the movie Almost Famous.
She received recognition this year for playing Claire Sardina in Song Sung Blue, where she acted alongside Hugh Jackman.
This movie is a musical based on a true story, following a band that performs the music of Neil Diamond called Lightning & Thunder.
The actress has three children: 22-year-old Ryder with her ex-husband Chris Robinson, 14-year-old Bingham with musician Matt Bellamy, and 7-year-old Rani with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa.
With her children grown, she’s at a point in her career where she finally has the chance to focus on her own goals and interests.
Appearing on the Today Show, she shared that she began having children at a young age – she was 24 when her first child was born, and now has grown children. As her kids get older, she feels her creative work is evolving and taking on a new dimension.
It’s a strange shift – I suddenly have more independence and can focus on my own needs.
After becoming known for popular romantic comedies like “Bride Wars” and “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” she’s now moving on to different types of roles.
She explained to The Hollywood Reporter that the industry consistently hired her for certain types of roles, and her aim was always to deliver the strongest possible performance in those roles.
Once you become well-known for a particular type of role, it can be difficult for directors to imagine you playing anything else.
She explained at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February that people often assume she doesn’t enjoy transforming into different characters, but that’s actually her favorite part of acting.
Hudson pointed out that she’s ready for ‘the next phase.’
She clarified that she’s not suddenly motivated by awards; her real goal is to bring audiences back to the theater.
I feel like I’m entering a phase where I’ll have more opportunities to make significant changes and improvements compared to before.
