The most eligible bachelor in Bondi may not be single for long.
Matt Suleau, who recently ended his relationship with publicist Sharz Shabani Pour, is now reportedly dating Sydney socialite Eleni Taylor.
Sydney’s eastern suburbs are buzzing about the Fox Sports presenter’s preference for dating women over 40, and a recent sighting has only reinforced his well-known reputation.
Eleni was formerly married to Mark Taylor, a successful construction CEO in New South Wales. Taylor owns Taylor Construction Group, which has built many large commercial and educational buildings, and he also owns a multimillion-dollar yacht called One O One.
She and Mark, who share two teenage children, are believed to have split in 2021.
Around a year after their split, she was seen with celebrity accountant Anthony Bell, who was single at the time. He later explained that they had only met to discuss work.
I’ve been following Eleni for a while now, and it was rumored she was going to be on The Real Housewives of Sydney! She’s a regular on the Sydney social scene, always at the best events. I recently saw her at the Gold Dinner, which is a really important fundraiser for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation – it’s a very glamorous night for a great cause.
Locally, she’s also become well-known for the major renovation of her Bellevue Hill home, which included marble from the same quarry that supplied the stone for Michelangelo’s David sculpture.
Eleni was part of a group of affluent parents who all sent their children to the same private school. This group, often called the ‘Kambala set,’ took a trip to Mykonos in 2016, which resulted in serious legal trouble for businessman Nicholas ‘Nic’ Stavropoulos, who was accused of rape.
Eleni and her former husband might testify in the new trial for Stavropoulos, along with other people involved. They haven’t been accused of any crime, and Stavropoulos continues to say he didn’t do anything wrong.
Although Matt and Eleni haven’t publicly confirmed their relationship, people spotted them together over the weekend at the popular restaurant The International.
A photo shared by Mourad Ayat, husband of former Vogue Australia editor Kirstie Clements, showed them together. Ayat is believed to have connections to the restaurant.
It’s not surprising Eleni isn’t featured on Matt’s Instagram. He presents an image of himself as a fun-loving single man who enjoys exciting events like Formula 1 races, and a luxurious lifestyle with beautiful people.
It was a pattern observed throughout his previous relationship with Sharz.
While they were dating, he didn’t often post about her on his main feed, usually only sharing glimpses of her in his temporary Stories and saved Highlights.
Unlike others, Sharz, who runs the hospitality PR firm Refine Marketing, readily shared photos of herself with Matt, including pictures from her 41st birthday and a luxurious staycation he planned at the Crown Sydney hotel.
At the time, friends dismissed it as just a difference in how they used social media.
However, after their split, it seemed as though Matt’s priorities may have been elsewhere.
The couple was last seen together in public last November, posing for photos at Derby Day within the Birdcage enclosure at Flemington Racecourse.
I’ve been following Matt for a while now, and honestly, his dating history is… something. He’s dated some really well-known women – like Simone Elliott from The Real Housewives of Melbourne, who’s 44, and the socialite Maria Sprem, who’s 50. People have definitely started calling him a ladies’ man, and it seems he has a type – much older women. It’s become quite the talking point!
At just 37 years old, Matt – often called ‘Bondi’s Mr Perfect’ – has been working in television for 18 years. He’s also one of the youngest people to ever host Sports Tonight.
He began his career at Channel 10 and then moved to Fox Sports in 2015, where he worked for both Fox and Sky News Australia.
He also serves as a Starlight Foundation ambassador.
Matt didn’t reply when we asked for a statement, but a source told the Daily Mail that he and Eleni were friends.
