Fortnite adds new competitive update, removing Hover Jets and more
As a seasoned Fortnite gamer with countless hours spent battling it out in competitive modes, I can’t help but feel a mix of relief and anticipation as I digest the latest changes announced for Season 4 of Chapter 5. The removal of Hover Jets from competitive play is a much-needed decision, if I do say so myself! It’s been a thorn in the side of many tournaments, with players abusing its potential to gain an unfair advantage.
Fortnite announced a new update which made some big changes to competitive.
For each fresh Fortnite season, there are modifications in the competitive aspect, weapon adjustments with buffs and nerfs included, among other things. Recently, through a tweet, they’ve shared that some new improvements focusing on competitive play have been incorporated into the game.
Here is everything Fortnite changed regarding competitive for Forntite Chapter 5, Season 4.
Fortnite removes Hover Jets in competitive in Season 4
In a tweet from their competitive account, Fortnite shared that they’re removing Hover Jets from competitive play. This move is celebrated by tournament organizers since it eliminates the issue of excessive use and exploitation of the item during competition.
In addition to eliminating Hover Jets, Fortnite also revealed some other adjustments. Next week’s update will limit the number of Armored Walls, with a maximum of six in it. Moreover, during tournaments, only six Armored Walls will be allowed.
Each player can carry a maximum of six armored walls individually, which makes it challenging for teams to amass too many of them.
Following numerous player complaints about excessive use of these walls, where competitors were employing an overabundance simultaneously, it’s worth noting that they are exceptionally tough to destroy as well.
Fortnite fixes chest bug
In addition, the game corrected an issue that caused some treasure chests to lack a weapon inside, making them almost pointless for players who opened them.
This has been fixed and will not be an issue for players anymore.
Fortnite consistently impresses its player base, particularly in the competitive arena. Although some players continue to voice concerns, like the ongoing debate about siphon’s removal, the game is persistently adapting to meet player preferences.
In just two weeks, Fortnite Global events will be underway, and the anticipation among players and enthusiasts is palpable as they eagerly await the revelations of this fresh season’s competitive landscape.
