Forgotten crime thriller that will “keep you guessing” resurfaces in Netflix’s trending chart

I just rediscovered this awesome old crime thriller on Netflix called Mindhunters – it’s totally different from the other show with the same name! It’s about a group of police cadets who are put through really intense training simulations on an island, basically trying to catch a fake killer. It’s a really cool concept and I’m hooked!

I heard the FBI was initially skeptical of how this whole thing was being run. But then they sent someone to check it out, and apparently it wasn’t a simulation anymore! It quickly turned into a genuinely scary, life-or-death situation for whoever was sent in.

The series Mindhunters is gaining popularity, currently ranking ninth in the UK’s Top 10 and appearing among the most-watched shows in several other countries.

The 2004 film features a talented cast including rapper LL Cool J, Jonny Lee Miller from the show Elementary, Christian Slater of Mr. Robot, Kathryn Morris known from Cold Case, and the late Val Kilmer, famous for Top Gun.

Many fans enjoyed the film, with one IMDb reviewer praising its ability to maintain suspense and excitement throughout.

The mystery and constant guessing about who’s responsible will have you hooked. Plus, the acting is surprisingly good, especially considering the film’s budget and type.

One reviewer described it as a clever and exciting thriller – a well-made, engaging movie that doesn’t require a lot of deep thinking.

One viewer said they really enjoyed Mindhunters, noting it had some unexpected and enjoyable moments.

While the movie wasn’t a critical success, earning a low 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes after 118 reviews, critics generally found it lacking substance. The Globe and Mail, for example, described it as “pointlessly silly.”

The New York Times called the movie “a big, dumb, loud action film,” but the Washington Post felt it was “corny” yet “reasonably enjoyable.”

Mindhunters is available to stream now on Netflix.
