Honestly, if a movie came out right now starring Ryan Reynolds and Matthew Lillard, I think it would be huge. Reynolds is a massive star these days, especially after Deadpool, and Lillard is just one of those actors a lot of us grew up with – millennials especially! He’s always great, and I think that pairing would get everyone talking.

You can see these actors together in the movie Finder’s Fee. It’s surprisingly unknown, especially considering its cast, and many people haven’t even heard of it. This year marks its 25th anniversary, and it really deserves more recognition.

Finder’s Fee Is A Tense Thriller

The movie Finder’s Fee immediately grabs your attention with its intriguing setup. It follows Tepper, who discovers a wallet on his way home and, after contacting the owner, realizes it contains a winning lottery ticket worth six million dollars.

Every week, Tepper plays poker with his friends, and they all chip in to buy a lottery ticket with the winner taking the whole prize. Things get complicated when the person who lost their wallet – the one Tepper found – shows up to join the game, leaving Tepper unsure what to do with the winning ticket.

The police secured the building to investigate, leaving the wallet’s owner trapped with the poker players and Tepper for several hours – which only complicated things further. Eventually, the situation escalates, leading to a compelling final act with a surprising twist at the very end.

The movie Finder’s Fee isn’t very well known – it only has five official reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and 60% of those reviews are positive.

The Cast of Finder’s Fee Is Great

Even before you learn anything about the story, the strong cast is what really sets Finder’s Fee apart. Erik Palladino, who plays the main character Tepper, may not be a huge star, but he’s delivered excellent performances in shows like ER and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The movie’s cast features three major stars: Matthew Lillard, Ryan Reynolds, and the iconic James Earl Jones. Reynolds and Lillard portray two of the poker players, named Quigley and Fishman.

Quigley is a divorced and unpredictable man, and Fishman is a fast-talking, paranoid type. James Earl Jones appears as Avery Phillips, the owner of the winning lottery ticket. It’s a joy to see these talented actors perform together in this often-overlooked thriller – their delivery of the dialogue alone is captivating.

The Director Of Finder’s Fee Is A Reality TV Star

I’m really excited about Finder’s Fee! The cast is fantastic, and it’s cool to learn that Jeff Probst, the host of Survivor – you know, that show that’s been on forever – actually wrote and directed the whole thing! It’s amazing to see someone so well-known behind the camera on this project.

Jeff Probst has received numerous Emmy Awards for hosting Survivor, and he was the first to win the Outstanding Host award for a reality or competition program. He later hosted his own talk show, The Jeff Probst Show, which aired almost 200 episodes.

Probst began his career as a film director with Finder’s Fee. He didn’t direct another movie until 2014, when he made the romantic comedy Kiss Me, which featured Sarah Bolger, Emily Osment, Missi Pyle, John Corbett, and Jenna Fischer. Although his films may not be blockbusters, he’s collaborated with many well-known actors.

If you enjoy suspenseful thrillers with strong performances, Finder’s Fee is a surprisingly good movie worth checking out.
