“Extraordinary” Oasis movie from Peaky Blinders boss confirms release date

A new documentary about the iconic British band Oasis is coming soon to both cinemas and Disney+. The film, currently without a title, is being made by Steven Knight, the creator of the popular series Peaky Blinders.

The film offers a unique look with exclusive footage and will be shown in select IMAX theaters and cinemas globally starting September 11th for a limited run. It will then become available to stream later this year, with the exact date to be announced.

The documentary about Noel and Liam Gallagher’s Oasis Live ’25 reunion will offer an all-access pass, showing rehearsals, behind-the-scenes moments, and concert footage. It will also feature the first interviews with both brothers together in over 25 years.

I’m really excited that the show will also look at how the band and their music have touched so many people – fans from all walks of life and different generations. It’s going to be amazing to see those stories!

Knight expressed immense excitement for the film’s release, stating that it beautifully reflects a significant cultural moment and pays fitting tribute to the humor and talent of two remarkable individuals.

He also explained that this is a story about how music and songwriting can bring people together across generations, cultures, and countries, offering a sense of hope even when things feel divisive and hostile.

Knight developed the idea for the film, and Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace will be directing it.

According to Disney’s Eric Schrier, this is a truly special project. The film tells a personal story about making amends, highlights the impact of music, and celebrates Oasis, a hugely popular and important band. Disney is proud to share this remarkable film in theaters and on Disney+ globally.

Their greatest hits collection, Time Flies… 1994-2009, released in 2010, has been certified eight-times platinum in Britain.

The new Oasis documentary, currently without a title, will be released in theaters on September 11th and will become available to stream on Disney+ later in 2026.
