Everything You Need To Know About Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Hardcore Mode
As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to announce that Deep Silver has officially unveiled the launch date for the Hardcore Mode of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, along with some juicy details!
At long last, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s Hardcore Mode is set to debut on April 15, 2025. The official Twitter account for KCD 2 made the exciting announcement about the upcoming update on April 7, 2025. In addition to this news, we now have some additional insights, like the level of challenge, modifications, and special benefits.
Warhorse Studios has confirmed that they’ve been intending to include a Hardcore Mode in King’s Court Development 2 (KCD 2) since its planning stages, and now, players will have their first opportunity to try it out. This article delves into all the details about KCD 2’s new hardcore mode that have recently been unveiled.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Hardcore Mode, Explored
In Kingdom Deliverance 2, the Hardcore Mode is approaching. The creators strive to offer a tougher challenge, a more polished user interface, and a test for any player eager to traverse medieval Bohemia. This update may evoke thoughts of Soulsborne games’ design for some, but it’s not the same. Warhorse Studio intends for the hardcore mode to deliver an authentic experience that mirrors the harshness and struggles of the Middle Ages, while also introducing a fresh way to engage with the game.
As a fellow gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share some insider news: PC gamers have already had a sneak peek at a developer version of the intense Hardcore Mode. Although the developers are being secretive about it, we can anticipate that console users will soon join in on the fun and experience this mode themselves!
Yet, it remains unclear at this point how closely the official hardcore mode will mirror the developer version. Here are some alterations that could be seen in the hardcore mode:
This way, I’ve tried to keep the sentence structure and meaning intact while making the language more conversational and easier to read.
- Reduced UI both in and out of combat
- Disabled Fast Travel
- Disabled Auto-Save
- Player position on the map of KCD 2 not marked
- Compass Does Not Show Cardinal Directions
- Players must choose three negative perks as permanent penalties that will remain throughout the playthrough
Hardcore Mode Perks in KCD 2
In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s Hardcore Mode, the penalties are largely similar to those seen during the developer phase on PC. So far, Warhorse Studios has not provided an announcement indicating any changes or additions to these perks.
For your convenience, we have listed all of the perks in the hardcore mode of KCD 2 below:
- Bad Back: You will be restricted to carrying fewer items than usual, and you might strain your back when you bend to pick something up.
- Bashful: You won’t be able to ask people for directions, which would make navigation slightly more inconvenient. Additionally, Henry will be shy around women, and the speed of gaining Speech Skill will be slower.
- Hungry Henry: Starving will reduce your Speech, Charisma, and Intimidation alongside the usual debuffs. Your digestion rate will also increase 50%, while food will fill you 20% less.
- Heavy-Footed: Henry will make more noise while moving, and his shoes will wear down quicker than usual.
- Menace: If you get caught for a crime, the effect won’t go away, and you will be executed if you get caught for any other serious crimes. The guards will also punish you more strictly and with more intense consequences.
- Numbskull: 20% less Experience gain time
- Picky Eater: All food in your inventory will be spoiled 25% faster. You will also get only half the meat after gutting an animal.
- Punchable Face: Meeting travelers on the road is more dangerous, and you will also get into fights more often. Additionally, enemies won’t surrender to you and will be more confident.
- Somnabulant: You lose energy faster. Also, every time you sleep, you might start to sleepwalk.
- Sweaty: You get dirty faster, and you start to smell faster as well. You will get detected quickly because of the stench as well. Perfumes won’t work on you.
