Great news for fans! Netflix has officially confirmed that season 3 of Wednesday is now being filmed. Following a recent update on Instagram about filming, Netflix announced that the Addams Family series, starring Jenna Ortega, is adding new cast members.
The latest announcements hint at a thrilling season blending spooky horror with the regal world of the Addams Family, and referencing classic stories. While the creators of Wednesday have been secretive about details, season 3 will allow Tim Burton to work again with some of his favorite actors. It’s becoming clear that the new season will deliver exactly what fans are hoping for.
Eva Green As Aunt Ophelia
After fans requested to see more of the Addams family, the creators of Wednesday are delivering! Eva Green will join season three as Ophelia, Morticia’s sister. Green first gained attention for her role in The Dreamers and later became a well-known name with her performance as Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale. She’s also been praised for her work in the gothic horror series Penny Dreadful, which established her as a leading figure in modern horror.
Traditionally, Ophelia has been portrayed as a typical, blonde member of the Addams family. However, the Netflix series hasn’t revealed much about their version of the character yet. The way season 2 ended, and the imagery used to promote season 3, suggest Ophelia will become much more sinister.
Chris Sarandon As Balthazar
Chris Sarandon is a well-known actor who has excelled in many different types of films. He first gained recognition with his role in the crime thriller Dog Day Afternoon, which earned him an Oscar nomination. However, he’s best remembered for playing Prince Humperdinck in The Princess Bride and providing the voice of Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas. Now, he’s working with Tim Burton again on the series Wednesday, playing the character Balthazar.
Fans of the Addams Family will recognize the name Balthazar, as he’s appeared in other Addams Family stories. In the 1991 movie, Morticia and Gomez recall first meeting at his funeral. But Netflix hasn’t said if this new character is the same Balthazar. Susan Sarandon’s history with horror suggests that the show Wednesday is aiming for a darker, more adult tone.
Noah Taylor As Cyrus
Noah Taylor is a versatile actor with a diverse career. He first gained recognition for his leading role in Shine, and later appeared in Edge of Tomorrow alongside Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. Interestingly, he’s played Adolf Hitler twice, once in the film Max and again in the series Preacher. Taylor is often cast as unusual and disturbing characters – like Bolton bannerman Locke in Game of Thrones – and he’s expected to bring a unique and memorable presence to Wednesday.
In the third season, Taylor will be playing a character named Cyrus. This might be interesting to longtime fans of The Addams Family, as a Cyrus Strange already appears in the franchise as a villain from The Addams Family 2 animated movie sequels. However, Netflix hasn’t said if this new Cyrus is connected to that character. Right now, he’s just a new addition to the show.
Oscar Morgan As Atticus
Oscar Morgan is a British actor who has appeared in many TV shows since 2018. While he had a significant role in the CW series Gotham Knights, fans of Game of Thrones may remember him as Valarr Tagaryen in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Morgan will play the role of Atticus in the show Wednesday, but Netflix hasn’t shared any details about what the character will be like or his history.
Kennedy Moyer As Daisy

Kennedy Moyer, who’s famous for her role as Harper in the HBO show Task, will be appearing as Daisy in season 3 of Wednesday. While still building her career, Moyer also played Dee in the 2025 film Roofman, which stars Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst.
It’s currently unknown what role Daisy will play in Wednesday and the larger Addams Family world. However, introducing another young character hints that season 3 might broaden the show’s cast beyond the core group of Nevermore students. This new character could potentially tie into future storylines involving Pugsley.
Winona Ryder As Tabitha
Winona Ryder, known for her roles in classic gothic stories, will appear in season three of Wednesday as a character named Tabitha. This is a major casting announcement, and it will be a reunion between Ryder and director Tim Burton. Netflix has confirmed the news but hasn’t revealed details about Tabitha’s role yet.
Winona Ryder became well-known for her work in gothic films during the late 1980s and 1990s, starting with her memorable role as Lydia Deetz in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice. She continued to build her reputation with films like Heathers and Edward Scissorhands, becoming a favorite in dark and unusual stories. More recently, she’s gained a new following for her role as Joyce Byers in the popular series Stranger Things.
While it’s still unclear how Tabitha will fit into the story, Winona Ryder’s appearance adds a lot of classic gothic appeal to the third season of Wednesday. Her established on-screen presence and the chemistry she showed with Jenna Ortega in the 2024 Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie are a great match for the show’s overall style and mood.
