Marvel Studios made a big splash at Comic-Con, holding its first Hall H presentation since Robert Downey Jr.’s surprise appearance in 2024. They also showcased several of the guest stars from their upcoming film, Deadpool & Wolverine.
The event happened at 1:30 AM in the UK, so it’s understandable if you didn’t want to stay up that late – especially since we already got a sneak peek at the Avengers: Doomsday trailer just a few days ago.
Thankfully, Digital Spy has summarized all the big reveals from the panel, which was led by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
Ryan Gosling is Ghost Rider
The exciting news is that Ryan Gosling will be taking on the role of Ghost Rider in a new film scheduled for release in 2028. This project will also bring him back together with director Shawn Levy, whom he previously collaborated with on Star Wars: Starfighter.
Walking onto the stage, Gosling seemed stunned and asked, “Is this actually happening?” He then admitted that playing this character was a long-held dream.
Hayley Atwell is back
It was recently confirmed during the Avengers: Doomsday event that Hayley Atwell will return as Peggy Carter in the next Avengers film.

It wasn’t shocking news for those who had heard the rumors – reports of her return surfaced as early as December 2024, though it wasn’t officially announced until Comic-Con.
Some exclusive footage was also shown during the panel, but don’t expect it to be released online.
Deadpool is back… maybe?
Atwell shared the stage with many of her fellow actors, and to everyone’s surprise, Ryan Reynolds appeared in the audience dressed as Deadpool. He playfully asked questions, like “Why was Thor crying?”
Okay, so everyone’s buzzing about whether Deadpool will show up in Avengers: Doomsday, but Marvel hasn’t said anything official yet. Still, the rumours are pretty strong! On top of that, Ryan Reynolds just let slip that another Deadpool movie is definitely happening, which makes me think a cameo isn’t out of the question.
He hinted at potential last-minute additions during the Q&A, which is the closest thing to a confirmation we’ll get before the release, even if it wasn’t an official announcement.
Black Panther 3 is coming in 2028
I was so excited at the Marvel panel when they announced that Black Panther 3 is officially coming to theaters! It’s scheduled for December 15th, 2028. Ryan Coogler actually came on stage to share the news himself, and he was joined by Letitia Wright and Winston Duke – it was a really special moment.
Okay, so get this – they officially announced who’s taking on the role of T’Challa’s son in the new movie, and it’s David Jonsson! But the biggest surprise? He’s also going to be the next Black Panther! I wasn’t expecting that at all, honestly.
We didn’t, however, get any confirmation that Denzel Washington is going to be in the movie.
There were no updates about the highly anticipated X-Men movie either – not even a title or any casting news. Marvel is still keeping fans in the dark.
I’m so excited! Spider-Man: Brand New Day is hitting UK cinemas on July 29th, and then Avengers: Doomsday will be out on December 18th. Can’t wait to see both!
