Erin Doherty, known for her role in the series Adolescence, is joining the cast of an upcoming comedy directed by Nancy Meyers. Emma Mackey, who starred in Sex Education, was originally set to appear in the film, but had to withdraw in February because of scheduling issues.
The movie, set to come out on December 25, 2027, boasts an impressive cast featuring Penélope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, and Owen Wilson.
Meyers shared their excitement about Erin Doherty joining the project on Instagram, calling her a brilliant addition to the cast.

According to Deadline, the upcoming film will follow a filmmaker and producer who used to be a couple and creative collaborators. They reconnect years after splitting up to work on a new movie, forcing them to confront their past relationship while managing demanding actors and the pressures of a major production.
Meyers shared on Instagram that the movie centers around a filmmaking crew and the captivating, enigmatic process of creating movies.
