Elaine Claxton, known for her role in Emmerdale as Pierce Harris’ mother, Martha, will appear in the next-to-last episode of Beyond Paradise. She first appeared in Emmerdale in April 2017 and left a few months later in June.
Claxton now joins the Shipton Abbott gang as a new mysterious case lands in DI Humphrey’s lap.
BBC reports that in season four, episode five, Humphrey and Esther will be stumped by a strange case: a man covered in green paint and tangled in ivy, discovered thanks to a dog walker.

In this episode, Claxton plays Mavis, a dog walker, as the team investigates the legend of the Green Man. They uncover a secluded community living sustainably in the woods, but trouble arises when a city developer threatens their home. As tensions escalate and blame is cast, the Green Man symbol mysteriously appears at various crime scenes, even painted on the developer’s office before it’s set on fire.
This episode includes a story about two brothers locked in a bitter feud, with hidden truths from their past that could come to light.
What to Read Next
Okay, so things are still super tense with Humphrey. He’s really stressing over who he has to fire, and now this new boss, Mr. Smith, is just making everything worse and really breathing down everyone’s necks. The showrunner, Marshall, actually called Mr. Smith this season’s big bad – our main villain, basically – in an interview with Digital Spy.
Marshall explained that the other person consistently acts overly submissive and flattering, almost like a reptile, which puts a lot of pressure on Humphrey. He believes this behavior is unpleasant and is causing Humphrey problems.

Kelby is excitedly anticipating meeting Agnieszka, his girlfriend from Poland, who is traveling to see him for the first time. However, his sisters, Margo and Esther, worry that he might be the victim of a scam.
Beyond Paradise, Death in Paradise and Return to Paradise air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
