Ellen DeGeneres, 66, has stopped using two cosmetic surgery procedures to stay young: ‘Just a waste of energy’
As a fervent admirer of Ellen DeGeneres, I find myself deeply moved by her journey and resilience. From her meteoric rise to fame as a comedian, to her groundbreaking role as the first openly gay woman to host a popular daytime talk show, Ellen has always been a beacon of hope, humor, and humanity.
Ellen DeGeneres has decided to ditch Botox and fillers.
In a candid conversation during her last Netflix special titled “Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval,” the 66-year-old comedian expressed her acceptance of growing older, revealing that she has chosen to forgo facial cosmetic surgeries.
On the show that aired on Tuesday, Ellen admitted, “In retrospect, I would often claim not to worry about others’ opinions of me during my peak of popularity.
Hi there! You might notice that I seem to have aged a bit since our last encounter, and that’s simply because time has passed – I am indeed older now than the last time we met. Additionally, I’ve decided to let nature take its course by stopping the use of Botox and fillers.
Additionally, it came to light that Ellen DeGeneres had been dealing with several health issues. Furthermore, she sought therapy following the public accusations about a toxic work environment that were levied against her, which negatively affected her mental well-being and ultimately resulted in the termination of her talk show bearing her name.

She mentioned that in the past, she would get Botox and fillers without much concern for others’ opinions. Now, she feels it was unnecessary to spend time worrying about what others might think of her.
‘Just a waste of energy. We’re just guessing, we don’t know. It’s impossible to guess what people are thinking.’
She also talked about her litany of health issues.
Ellen shared that she found out she had osteoporosis, also known as brittle bone disease, following a bone density test.
She added: ‘I don’t even know how I’m standing up right now. I’m like a human sandcastle. I could disintegrate in the shower.’
‘It’s hard to be honest about ageing and seem cool.’
One time, I experienced severe discomfort that made me suspect I might have damaged a ligament. Concerned, I underwent an MRI scan. However, the results showed it was merely arthritis instead.
‘I said, “How did I get that?” And he said, “Oh it just happens at your age.”‘

Ellen has also been diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder and Attention Deficit Disorder.
She added about the conditions: ‘So, I have ADD, I have OCD – I’m losing my memory.
However, I believe I’m quite adaptable due to my tendency to fixate on various subjects. Yet, my focus often wanes, preventing me from staying committed for long periods. Additionally, I tend to lose track of what initially captivated my attention.
‘So, it takes me all the way around to being well adjusted, I think.’
Ellen Degeneres: For Your Approval is now available to stream on Netflix.
In July, Ellen revealed that she will be ‘done’ with showbusiness after her latest Netflix special.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I proudly stepped onto the stage in Santa Rosa for a stand-up performance, marking my return to live entertainment during my Ellen’s Last Stand… Up tour. This comeback comes exactly two years after my talk show took an unexpected hiatus following the unfortunate workplace scandal that, unfortunately, cast a shadow on my previously cherished reputation as TV’s beloved host.
In the performance, I shared about my departure from the limelight and playfully pondered that the next possible cancellation could be due to me being an older lesbian with a bit of a sharp tongue.
When asked about a potential comeback to prominence in the future, she unequivocally dismissed the idea.
‘This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.’
Ellen DeGeneres’ controversy began with a tweet written by comedian Kevin T. Porter in March 2020, inviting people to share their “craziest experiences of Ellen being unkind.” This tweet generated approximately 2,600 responses.

Four months down the line, BuzzFeed News released an in-depth report, which included testimonies from a current staff member and 10 ex-employees of the Louisiana-born comedian’s former daytime talk show. These individuals claimed incidents of racism, bullying at work, and sexual harassment.
By August 2020, WarnerMedia conducted an in-house probe, Ellen DeGeneres publicly apologized to her 255 staff members, and executive producers Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman, and Jonathan Norman were all dismissed from the program.
Ellen DeGeneres aired her last episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show on May 26, 2022, following 19 seasons, during which she had previously apologized to her viewers on air.
Later, she described it as a systematically sexist assault against her, and since the final episode of the talk show aired on May 26, 2022, she has largely avoided public attention.
