Elden Ring Nightreign’s Solo Mode Is Already Being Made Easier
Summary
- Elden Ring Nightreign is only halfway into its first day of release, but some parts of it are proving too much for players.
- The biggest example of this is the solo expeditions, which are slightly easier than with a friend but still very tough.
- FromSoftware has promised that a patch coming next week should make things a little easier for players.
Although Elden Ring Nightreign has recently been released, many gamers are finding the single-player mode excessively challenging, prompting Bandai to announce they’re working on a fix in the form of an upcoming patch.
Given the challenging nature that is characteristic of FromSoftware’s games, it’s likely not shocking to learn that many players are encountering difficulties with their latest title, Elden Ring: Nightreign. Although getting stumped is an expected aspect of Soulslikes, Nightreign stands out as a unique challenge.
Unlike Elden Ring and other Soulslike games, Nightreign is designed primarily as a multiplayer battle-royale game, offering an enhanced experience when played with two additional players online. While you can opt to play solo if preferred, the game’s mechanics seem to be tailored more for cooperative or competitive multiplayer, making it challenging for those playing on their own, resulting in a tougher gaming experience.
Don’t Worry, Elden Ring Nightreign Is About To Get Easier For Single Players
Or, In FromSoft’s Words, Solos Are About To Be “Improved”
Due to Nightreign being released last night, one common issue, other than the absence of Duos and difficulty finding opponents, is that it’s extremely hard to progress on your own. Although it was designed with multiplayer in mind, the inclusion of a single-player mode has left those who prefer offline play having a rather frustrating experience at present.
In the coming days, you can expect some significant changes. On the Elden Ring’s official Twitter page, they recently posted an update expressing gratitude for everyone who has played so far. Crucially, they announced that Patch 1.02 is scheduled for release in about a week, bringing along various bug fixes and adjustments to solo journeys.
The comprehensive details about the patch will be revealed following the update, however, certain details for solo expeditions were prematurely posted on Twitter. These enhancements involve an increase in the number of runes earned and the introduction of an “Auto-Resurrect Upon Defeat” effect that can be activated once per night boss battle.
If you believe Nightreign is challenging at the moment, be prepared for an even greater challenge once you discover all its subtle Dark Souls Easter eggs.
Although this update may not completely resolve Nightreign’s single-player challenges, it certainly appears to be moving in the right direction given the criticism the game has faced regarding its difficulty. Let’s see how effective this patch turns out, but fingers crossed that it eases the experience for those of us who don’t have a gaming buddy.
