Elden Ring Nightreign’s first enhanced boss just dropped out of nowhere, and there’s an extremely useful new NPC too

Surprise! Players of Elden Ring Nightreign have stumbled upon the debut of the new “upgraded bosses” that FromSoftware mentioned would be arriving this month. Overcoming it grants you a novel currency which can be used to purchase an array of incredibly handy items from a fresh NPC.

After the recent update, it seems unclear how one can obtain the “Everdark Sovereign” variant of Gaping Maw, but it’s likely that you must have already defeated its regular form as a prerequisite.

As a gamer, I missed my chance to gather a team swiftly for the fight against the Everdark Sovereign Gaping Maw boss, but it seems streamer Oroboro single-handedly defeated him. From what I’ve seen in his latest stream, it looks like the lightning dragon emerges during his second phase, creating a whirlwind within the arena that gamers must skillfully dodge to stay alive.

Overcoming the meeting will grant you an alternate currency named Sovereign Sigils, distinct from Murk. You can then utilize these at a fresh NPC stationed within Roundtable Hold, who offers potent relics tailored for each character and also game skins at a comparatively reduced price compared to their costs in Murk.

Not only does this newly introduced NPC offer an enhancement, it allows you to pay a nominal sigil fee to initiate any of the Shifting Earth events at your convenience. Earlier, these events would appear randomly after defeating three Nightlords, but now, you have the power to control them directly.

The NPC offers an option for payment, allowing you to acquire a different variant of a relic reward from the Guardian’s remembrance missions and to restore light in the exploration room at the Roundtable Hold, enhancing the illumination.

It appears that FromSoftware hasn’t given any details regarding the update, which makes it uncertain as to when we might encounter the additional bosses. All we can do is stay vigilant and check back regularly to see if there are any changes in the list within the coming days.
