Elden Ring Nightreign Took the Fun Out of Two-Handing Weapons, but One Shadow of the Erdtree Talisman Could Fix It
In simple terms, “Elden Ring Nightreign,” created by FromSoftware, is nothing short of amazing, as every move counts in helping you endure another chilling night in the haunting realm of Limveld. However, a significant portion of players are frustrated because the studio seems unwilling to address and improve one specific combat mechanic that significantly impacts the overall fighting experience.
We’re discussing a particular game skill: two-handed weapon handling. This feature is included in “Elden Ring Nightreign,” but users on social media platforms argue that it isn’t being utilized optimally or effectively, perhaps because there’s a Talisman from the “Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree” DLC that could potentially make it better.
Two-Handing Shouldn’t Feel Like a Nerf: Elden Ring Nightreign Needs to Fix This One Mechanic
In Elden Ring Nightreign, I’ve discovered multiple approaches to wield my weapons, and among them are power stancing and two-handing my preferred gear. However, it seems that power stancing offers more benefits than the intuitive choice of two-handing my weapons in this game.
In its current form, power stancing provides a higher Damage Per Second (DPS) advantage for a character like Raider, who is a strength-focused warrior class called a Nightfarer. A Reddit post highlights several issues with the game’s combat mechanics, beginning with the contention that wielding any greatsword or other weapons labeled as ‘great’ should result in an automatic boost to physical damage for the player.
In essence, Raider’s design focuses on dealing massive damage. Large, two-handed weapons should emphasize this trait even more. However, it generally performs as expected but can be inconsistent or outperformed by the superior scaling of power stancing, which boosts damage significantly. A user below in the comments suggests an item that could potentially address all issues related to two-handed weapons in Elden Ring Nightreign.
In the new release from FromSoftware, we’re missing some legendary bosses from the game “Shadow of the Erdtree” in Limveld. At the very least, they should include an update featuring the Two-Handed Sword Talisman, which boosts and enhances the power of weapons when wielded with two hands.
The One Talisman That Could Bring Balance Back to Nightreign

To ensure Elden Ring Nightreign maintains its iconic Raiders’ strength in combat while keeping two-handed weapon mechanics fair, FromSoftware might need to increase power (buff) and potentially add a Two-Handed Sword Charm quickly within the game.
In the initial expansion of “Shadow of the Erdtree,” the talisman is obtained from a specific chest loot in Temple Town Ruins. On the other hand, in “Elden Ring Nightreign,” it is anticipated that you might discover this item either scattered across the floor loot or as a reward from defeating bosses. It’s possible that this artifact won’t be present as a Talisman within the game but instead as a relic, maintaining its previous qualities.
