Elden Ring Nightreign Sells 2 Million Units on the First Day
Elden Ring Nightreign sold 2 million copies on its first day.
Bandai Namco reported that due to pre-orders and early sales, the game has surpassed the remarkable 2 million units mark before its official release.
Within a blink of an eye, the newly launched multiplayer cooperative spin-off soared to the top of Steam’s most-played list, boasting an astounding 313,593 players simultaneously at its peak.
It’s important to note that the sales figures for Xbox and PlayStation platforms, handled by Microsoft and Sony respectively, have not been disclosed in their entirety. However, FromSoftware has provided a glimpse into the scale of Elden Ring: Nightreign, as they announced that over 2 million copies of the game have already been sold.
The game Elden Ring has been an unprecedented triumph, with over 30 million units sold since it hit the shelves in 2022. It’s hard to imagine that Nightreign, another title, will equal this level of success. To provide a frame of reference, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion managed to sell 5 million copies within just three days after its launch in 2024. We’ll eagerly await any sales figures for Elden Ring: Nightreign, released under the same timeframe.
Although Elden Ring Nightreign boasts a large player base, it’s not without its issues. The game has received a ‘mixed’ rating on Steam, with many users expressing concerns about the absence of two-player co-op and voice chat, as well as the challenging solo play experience. Players also find it difficult to gather enough companions for a three-person team due to the scarcity of players. Fortunately, an update aimed at easing the single-player experience is scheduled for release next week.
As explained in iggn.ru‘s Elden Ring Nightreign review: “Let’s get the most important caveat out of the way first: if you are hoping to tackle Nightreign entirely solo, and are anything less than a hardcore Elden Ring player that actively seeks out ways to make that already difficult game even more challenging, Nightreign isn’t for you. Yes, there is technically a single-player option, but it is so poorly balanced that I would be shocked if it isn’t patched and adjusted within the first month of release. And this is coming from someone who lives and breathes these types of games.”
