If you enjoy wielding large weapons like Greatswords, Greataxes, and Hammers, then Raider is an ideal pick for you in Elden Ring Nightreign. He boasts the highest Strength attribute among all Nightfarers, enabling you to inflict massive damage during your adventures.
Much like other characters in Nightreign, mastering Raider may require some effort. But once you grasp the best ways to employ his abilities and construct a dependable setup, you’ll find yourself at an edge, becoming a formidable player to contend with.
This resource provides comprehensive information on the character known as Raider within Elden Ring Nightreign, including tips for playing as him, top recommended items like Relics and weapons, and additional insights.
Raider Skills

Raider’s skills can change the tide of battle and even help out teammates. Check them out below.
Skill | Type | Description |
Fighter’s Resolve | Passive | Taking damage boosts Retaliate potency, cannot be knocked down while using it. |
Retaliate | Character Skill | Assume attack stance and pummel vigorously. |
Totem Stela | Ultimate Art | Drive the gravekeeper’s wedge into earth to summon a giant tombstone. |
For Raider, fortitude (Fighter’s Resolve) and retribution (Retaliate) are inseparable. As Raider sustains harm, his inherent ability, Fighter’s Resolve, amplifies the effect of Retaliate. This enables Raider to endure damage and counterattack the foe. At other instances, receiving damage as Raider can prove advantageous.
Giant Tombstone Totem: Raider’s Masterpiece Ability, brings forth a colossal gravestone that not only inflicts harm but amplifies the attack power of nearby teammates. Moreover, players can ascend this gravestone to gain an upper hand against opponents and rest momentarily. Being atop the gravestone grants immunity from damage while allowing healing and consumption of items without fear of retaliation.
Best Weapons

Since Raider is primarily a character with high Strength, he performs optimally when wielding heavy weapons. I suggest you opt for Greataxes or Hammers , given their user-friendly nature and knack for shattering stances, leaving adversaries in a disoriented state. It’s advisable to avoid using stabbing weapons like Spears.
As a gamer, I’d often find myself pondering over the weapons I pick up during my expeditions. It’s smart to go for those that come with a built-in skill or ability. Though Raider is primarily a Strength warrior, he’s got some MP up his sleeve to unleash weapon skills. In a tight spot, these can pack quite a punch!
My preferred ability is the “Regal Beastclaw Blast” from the Beastclaw Greathammer, which allows the user to unleash a whirlwind of claws in all directions, causing harm to numerous opponents. The “Spinning Wheel Attack” from Ghiza’s Wheel is another standout, continuously inflicting damage as long as the button is held down.
Unfortunately, since Elden Ring Nightreign has a randomized system (RNG), it’s not certain that you’ll discover Greataxes or Hammers during your journey. However, to boost your odds, ensure to explore every outpost, defeat mini-bosses at key locations as much as possible, and loot thoroughly in all areas.
Best Relics

In Elden Ring, Nightreign offers an abundance of relics for selection. These relics manifest in three distinct colors – red, yellow, and green. To maximize the potential of your Raider in an adventure, there are several strategies to consider when selecting these relics.
To maximize Raider’s Strength, Vigor, and Endurance using relics is a wise decision, as it boosts his ability to inflict damage and enhances his durability. Alternatively, if you aim to quicken the recharge rate of his skills and ultimate, there are relics that provide such advantages.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but sing the praises of the Torn-Braided Cord, a remarkable Relic for the Raider. This prized possession is earned by successfully completing one’s initial Remembrance, and it bestows a +3 boost to Strength. What sets it apart, though, is its enhanced attack power and stamina when employing the Character Skill, Respite, while taking damage. It’s like having an extra reserve of energy in the heat of battle!
Fathom’s Night is another excellent pick for Relic since it boosts maximum HP, makes flasks heal allies too, and items influence all nearby friends. This is a fantastic choice because it benefits you and your team simultaneously. Players can obtain this by finishing the Augur expedition.
You might also opt for Relics that suit the Nightlord you’re preparing to confront. For instance, if you’re tackling the Nightlord from the Sentient Pest expedition, it’s vulnerable to fire, so consider picking a Relic that amplifies Fire attacks. Don’t forget to gather Fire grease during the expedition.
In case your goblet lacks the necessary colored spaces for the relics, don’t forget to buy one instead.
Raider Expedition Strategies

If you want to have a good chance of surviving until Day 3 and defeating the Nightlord as Raider, take a look at these tips I’ve gathered for you.
- Visit as many Churches as possible to add Flask Charges.
- Use Consumables to increase attack power, such as Exalted Flesh and elemental Grease.
- Use Boiled Prawns to negate physical damage taken.
- Dual Wielding is a viable option
- Pick up weapons that have valuable buffs, such as improved jump attacks, increased damage for charged attacks, etc.
The point you just read is crucial to remember: Buffs can be activated even without a weapon being held, as long as they’re in your inventory. But take note, if a buff has a red hand symbol beside it, that signifies the weapon must indeed be equipped for that specific buff to work.
Best Team Composition

If you’re considering playing Elden Ring Nightreign alone, I wouldn’t advise it given its challenging nature. However, a Raider’s effectiveness largely depends on the team he’s working with.
To maximize Raider’s potential, it’s crucial to assemble a suitable team. My suggestion would be to include Ironeye and Duchess in your lineup.
Ironeye

In the game, Ironye is likely the top character to have on your team because he can bring back teammates from afar and effortlessly take down aerial enemies. I can’t even begin to count how many times Ironye has revived me when I was close to dying, but it’s safe to say it’s been more than a few instances.
Having Iron-eye as an ally by your side is beneficial because his inherent talent, “Eagle Eye,” makes enemies drop more loot. This means you can acquire powerful versions of the previously suggested weapons more swiftly.
Duchess

Duchess is an exceptional partner for Raider, primarily because of her ability to Restage her Character and deploy Finale Ultimate. Essentially, the Finale Ultimate duplicates roughly half the damage you previously inflicted on an opponent within a short timeframe. In simpler terms, this amplifies Raider’s existing powerful attacks even further.
In the gaming world, when I wield Finale as my Ultimate, it turns me and my teammates into phantoms. This is particularly helpful against Raider, whose sluggish attack speed often makes it challenging to catch up to swift opponents like myself. Being invisible grants us a stealth advantage, allowing us to sneak in unnoticed strikes before our foes even realize we’re there!
