Elden Ring Film Adaptation Releases on March 3, 2028

Bandai Namco Entertainment and A24 have announced the release date for the upcoming Elden Ring movie: March 3, 2028. They’ve also shared the names of the actors who will star in the film.

The cast for the film includes the following:

  • Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus, Civil War, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Story)
  • Tom Burke (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Black Bag)
  • Havana Rose Liu (Bottoms)
  • Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina)
  • Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes, The Crown)
  • Ruby Cruz (Bottoms)
  • Nick Offerman (The Last of Us, Parks and Recreation)
  • John Hodgkinson (Dear England, Napoleon, Skyfall)
  • Jefferson Hall (House of the Dragon, Oppenheimer, Tenet)
  • Emma Laird (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, A Haunting in Venice)
  • Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace)

Alex Garland, known for directing films like Civil War, Ex Machina, and Annihilation, is writing and directing this new movie. Peter Rice will produce it with Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich of DNA Films. George R.R. Martin and Vince Gerardis are also producers, and the project has oversight from Bandai Namco Entertainment and From Software. Garland initially presented a 160-page script draft to the developers. The film will be shot in IMAX.

Fans can expect more video game adaptations from From Software in the future. An anime series based on Sekiro, titled Sekiro: No Defeat, is in development, and popular YouTuber Jacksepticeye is producing an animated film inspired by Bloodborne. A24 is also planning a Death Stranding adaptation for release in the coming years. Currently, Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X|S & One, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, is scheduled to launch in 2026.
