KONAMI has announced a unique new project for its football game series: a manga adaptation called “That Time I Got Reincarnated in PES,” inspired by the Master League mode in eFootball. The announcement came during the eFootball CONNECT event on April 8, 2026, along with information about the v5.4.0 update.

The story follows a protagonist reincarnated into the Master League football world

This manga offers a fresh take on football games, telling the story of a main character who is reborn into the world of Master League. It fits into a popular manga category called ‘isekai,’ which focuses on characters being transported to another world.

This game is different – instead of being a manager looking at the team, you’re right there in the world with them! And get this – the club you build is called “We United,” which any long-time PES fan will immediately recognize! You quickly meet some awesome players, like Burchet, a super speedy winger from Australia, and Minanda, who’s a real leader and one of the team’s most important players.

The game also features players like Castolo, a fan favorite from previous PES titles. The story explores their lives, showcasing their personalities and how they interact with each other, both during games and behind the scenes. Expect a lot of humor, with exaggerated situations, funny locker room moments, and dramatic on-field action.

Kodansha, a major manga publisher, is handling the release of That Time I Got Reincarnated in PES. The artwork is being done by Kiminori Wakasugi, who previously worked on popular series like Detroit Metal City and Kappei.

New chapters of the manga are released every Wednesday on Kodansha’s K MANGA platform. Two chapters are currently available, so you can start reading the series now on the official website.
