eFootball 2026 Epic Italian Midfielders (Platini, Donadoni, Albertini) pack review

The latest update to eFootball 2026 features a new set of ‘Epic Italian Midfielders,’ bringing back three iconic players with improved versions. Michel Platini, Roberto Donadoni, and Demetrio Albertini are all returning favorites, now updated for the latest game.

This midfield group offers a good mix of player types and styles. However, since many of these players have been featured in the game before, the key question is whether these new cards are significantly better than their previous versions – and worth the in-game currency. Let’s take a closer look.

Michel Platini

Position: AMF
Playing Style: Creative Playmaker
Showtime Skill: Momentum Dribbling and Phenomenal Finishing

This attacking midfielder is another strong addition to the game. While Creative Playmakers can sometimes be divisive due to their in-game style, this particular card appears to be well-rounded and promising based on its stats.

This player is a fantastic dribbler with excellent ball control and tight possession. I especially like their use of Momentum Dribbling, a Showtime skill that makes it easier to glide past defenders. While you can improve their dribbling stats, they’re already very good, sitting in the mid-90s.

However, his Phenomenal Finishing ability is quite good. This means building him with a more attacking style, perhaps as a Shadow Striker (SS), could be very effective.

He’s clearly an excellent passer. While he might not be as physically imposing as some midfielders, that’s common for a technically gifted player like him. His speed and acceleration are good, making this an overall fantastic card with the potential to reach a rating of 109.

Roberto Donadoni

Position: CMF
Playing Style: Box-to-Box
Showtime Skill: Visionary Pass and Momentum Dribbling

This card is a bit unusual at first glance. While it’s technically a box-to-box central midfielder, his skillset doesn’t quite match a typical player in that position. It’s possible this wasn’t the original intention for the card, as he’s consistently played as a technical winger throughout his career.

This player shares similar strengths, but this style of play really highlights them. When played as a winger, everything clicks – their dribbling, pace, and attacking runs all work together effectively.

Setting him up like that transforms him into a dedicated winger or forward, relieving him of responsibilities in the middle of the field. This also lets you fully utilize Momentum Dribbling, a skill that works best for players in attacking positions.

Visionary Pass is also a solid tactic – it helps you create space, get past defenders, and deliver a good cross. I recommend trying this approach, and ideally using the build I mentioned earlier.

Demetrio Albertini

Position: DMF
Playing Style: Orchestrator
Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Pass

Okay, so Albertini’s a pretty solid card, but nothing amazing stat-wise. He’s exactly the kind of deep-lying midfielder I love though – he’s all about keeping possession, making smart passes, and putting in the work on defense. A real workhorse in the middle of the field!

This card excels at passing, which is exactly what you need in this position. It consistently scores in the high 90s, but you can adjust those stats to improve other areas. While its offensive skills are excellent, don’t overlook its surprisingly good defensive capabilities.

I focused on improving his defensive abilities, as his physical strengths allow him to handle that role effectively. He’s not a defensive liability, and his stats in that area are respectable for a defensive midfielder. Plus, being taller than players with a similar style, like Andrea Pirlo, gives him an edge when challenging for aerial balls.

Best pick from the Epic and Show Time Epic Italian Midfielders players in eFootball 2026

I’m not very impressed with this pack. While the Platini card is excellent, the other two seem like they were added just as an extra thought. I’d recommend holding out for better packs in the future.
