Ed Sheeran is set to bank £12million after closing down his touring firm.
The 35-year-old singer submitted paperwork on April 7th to close down his touring company, Hayagota-tourboi Touring LLP.
Since its launch in 2012, the company has earned over £400 million. Their latest financial reports for 2024 reveal a turnover of £40.3 million.
Once all debts were paid, the company made a profit of £12.5 million, which will be given to Ed when the business is officially closed.
Despite recent changes, Ed Sheeran is continuing his tour. He kicked off the ‘Loop Tour’ in January with performances in Australia and New Zealand, took a short break, and will be back on stage in South America this May.
The popular musician also started a new company, Gingerbread Touring, last year, probably to manage the income from his tours.
I was so moved to hear Ed Sheeran share a personal update about his wife, Cherry. He recently let fans know that Cherry has completed her cancer treatment and is doing well – she’s through the hardest part! He spoke about how challenging it was when they first received the diagnosis, and it’s just beautiful to see them on the other side of it, focusing on healing and moving forward. It’s a really inspiring story and a reminder to cherish every moment.
In February 2022, doctors found a tumor in Cherry’s arm while she was six months pregnant with her second child, a daughter named Jupiter.
It was a devastating week for Cherry, as she learned she had cancer. Simultaneously, Ed experienced immense personal loss with the unexpected deaths of his close friends Jamal Edwards and Shane Warne. To add to the stress, he was also dealing with a legal battle over his hit song “Shape Of You,” where he faced accusations of plagiarism, but ultimately prevailed in court.
Ed, 35, and Cherry, 32, married in 2019 and later had a son named Jupiter. After his birth, Cherry, who already had one child, underwent surgery to remove a tumor.
Ed shared that receiving the news about his wife Cherry’s cancer diagnosis was one of the worst days of his life. He explained that Cherry was the one who told him.
That week was incredibly difficult. We lost Jamal, and then immediately had to deal with the court case. Shortly after, we also lost Shane.
She’s doing okay now. She had surgery because she was pregnant, which made things complicated.
She had surgery to remove the tumor after our second child was born. Thankfully, she’s doing completely well so far.
Ed Sheeran spoke with Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky, and Kristin Batalucco on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast.
When Cherry first went to the doctor, she received the difficult news that she had cancer. The doctor initially described her condition as very serious.
The mother quickly called Ed and urged him to cancel everything he had planned. They then faced a difficult month-long wait for the complete report.
But Cherry was told there were no treatment plans that would work with her pregnancy.
Following tests on the tumor, the couple learned it wasn’t as serious as they initially feared. This meant surgery was possible after the baby, Jupiter, was born.
In Ed’s Disney+ documentary, Cherry recalled receiving amazing news: the surgeon said they could remove the tumor after the baby was born. She was so overwhelmed, she almost felt sick with relief.
‘We didn’t have to worry about delivering the baby early.’
Ed and Cherry shared the happy news of their daughter Jupiter’s birth in May 2022 with a heartwarming post on Instagram. They are also parents to their four-year-old daughter, Lyra.
Cherry shared a health update in Ed’s documentary following a check-up months after her surgery. She was overjoyed to learn that her tumor hadn’t returned.
She shared that she had a follow-up scan on her arm yesterday to check for any signs of the tumor returning. She and the person with her were quiet during the car ride home, anxious about the results.
Being back in the same place where we had difficult times earlier in the year was really upsetting. Thankfully, the doctor reviewed the scans and everything appears healthy. The swollen glands have subsided, which is fantastic news – it’s a huge relief for us.
