Lolli now gives users automatic Bitcoin rewards when they connect their debit or credit cards, thanks to a new partnership with Kard.
Summary
- Lolli partnered with Kard to enable automatic Bitcoin cashback for its 600,000 account holders on linked Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards across Kard’s merchant network.
- Users earn Bitcoin rewards automatically on qualifying purchases with no extensions, codes, or checkout changes required, with rewards deposited directly to their Lolli wallet.
- Bitcoin earned can be withdrawn via the Lightning Network or used within the Thesis Bitcoin stack, including spending through Bitrefill and other integrations.
Lolli and Kard have teamed up to offer Bitcoin rewards when Lolli’s over 600,000 users make purchases with their linked cards. The announcement was made on Tuesday.
With the Lolli app, you can automatically earn Bitcoin rewards when you shop at thousands of stores like Dropbox, Hydro Flask, and Stanley 1913, simply by linking your eligible Visa or Mastercard. No special codes, extensions, or extra steps are needed at checkout.
According to Kard CEO Ben Mackinnon, Lolli has a very unique customer base within the rewards industry. He expressed excitement about providing the technology that allows Lolli users to passively earn bitcoin with their regular purchases, and also helps businesses reach this valuable group of consumers. This update is Lolli’s most significant improvement since being acquired by Thesis last July.
Lolli Bitcoin cashback removes friction from earning rewards
Lolli connects to your cards through Plaid, and when you make eligible purchases, you automatically earn Bitcoin rewards delivered to your Lolli wallet. You can then easily withdraw those rewards using the Lightning Network or spend them across the Thesis Bitcoin ecosystem, including with Bitrefill. Best of all, this works for both online and in-store purchases at any store that accepts cards – no browser extension needed!
Matt Luongo, a co-founder of Thesis, explained that the new partnership achieves what they initially hoped for when acquiring Lolli: users simply connect a card, and automatically earn bitcoin on purchases they were already planning to make. Lolli has secured a total of $28.3 million in funding to date.
Kard connects with over 47 million cardholders through its shopping platform, using their purchase history to deliver relevant offers. As crypto.news noted in their guide to the best crypto cards, more people are using crypto-linked payment cards in 2026, especially as regulations become clearer.
Why card-linked rewards expand Bitcoin adoption
Most Bitcoin cashback programs require you to either pay with cryptocurrency or use a special crypto card. Lolli is different – you simply connect your existing credit or debit card and shop as usual, earning Bitcoin automatically. This makes it easy for anyone to get into Bitcoin without needing to manage a digital wallet or change how they spend money.
With Bitcoin currently trading around $77,000, any cashback you earn right now is like instantly buying a small piece of Bitcoin, which could increase in value over time.
This week, Revolut released its first physical card for cryptocurrencies, as crypto.news covered. This highlights a growing trend: financial technology companies are increasingly trying to integrate Bitcoin and crypto rewards into regular purchases by 2026.
