Square Enix has begun accepting pre-registrations for its new mobile game, DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow, on both Android and iOS. This roguelite RPG, part of the popular DRAGON QUEST series, had a closed beta test in October 2025 and is currently scheduled to release on July 31, 2026, according to the App Store.

DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow is a new, fast-paced RPG where every playthrough is unique. You’ll embark on a quest to save the world, and I’m excited to team up with Roly, a helpful robot, as we explore challenging dungeons. It’s designed to be easy to pick up and play, so it should stay engaging for a long time.

One of the most exciting features is the ability to use powerful “Coup de Grâce” attacks to quickly defeat large groups of enemies. Random Blessings also help your character grow and become more versatile. Plus, if you enjoy traditional classes, you can create a team of them and unlock special upgrades to make them even stronger.

If you enjoy playing with others, you can join up with three friends to tackle quests together. If you prefer playing alone, like I do, you can test your skills against challenging monsters in the Gauntlet and powerful bosses in Shines – both are a lot of fun! I think this game would be a great, more relaxed option to play after spending time on demanding games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang or PUBG.

Pre-registration for DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow is now available on both Android and iOS! You can sign up through the Google Play Store or App Store. The game is currently scheduled to release on July 31, 2026.
