Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Returns to the Spotlight Amid New Anime Announcements
After Akira Toriyama’s death and the end of the Dragon Ball Daima series, the future of Dragon Ball was uncertain. But the franchise has been given a major boost with recent announcements at the Genkidamatsuri 40th-anniversary event, including a new anime based on the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga.
Even though the Dragon Ball Super anime is popular, there’s still no confirmed date for the manga’s return. Akira Toriyama was the main story supervisor for the anime sequel, and it doesn’t look like the manga will be continuing anytime soon. In the meantime, a new short story has been released as part of a collector’s book included with a complete set of Son Goku action figures.
