Dr Chris Brown issues dire warning about Easter eggs: ‘Avoiding it altogether is always the best plan’

Dr Chris Brown has warned his fans not to feed their dogs chocolate eggs this Easter.

The vet explained that chocolate is poisonous to dogs and should be kept out of their reach, but reassured owners there’s no need to worry unless a dog actually eats some.

It’s the biggest weekend of the year for chocolate lovers! But don’t worry too much if your dog accidentally eats an egg, according to a recent Instagram post by the 47-year-old.

Dogs would need to eat a lot of chocolate – and the stimulant it contains, theobromine – to become seriously ill. More often, it’s the high fat and sugar content, or even the wrapper, that causes an upset stomach first.

Chris then explained that chocolate can be dangerous for dogs, specifying that for a 10kg dog, eating 400g of milk chocolate or 150g of dark chocolate could be harmful.

For a 35kg dog, 1400g of milk chocolate or 400g of dark chocolate would cause an issue.

Of course, the best thing is to keep chocolate away from cats entirely. They generally aren’t attracted to sweets, so they usually won’t go for it anyway.

It comes after Brown and his new girlfriend Lorraine Monforte went public last year.

The star of the show Bondi Vet and a publicist for Channel 10 in Brisbane, both 41 years old, publicly acknowledged their relationship in September with a romantic walk in Sydney.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple splits their time between Brisbane and Bondi Beach, where Chris works as a well-known veterinarian.

‘They are very happy together,’ a source previously said.

In 2023, Chris departed from ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ and Channel Ten, joining competitor network Seven. Robert Irwin then took over as the show’s host.

Lorraine, a highly respected industry contact in Queensland, lost her job in July after working for over ten years managing media relations from the network’s Mt Coot-tha offices.

We don’t know exactly when Chris and Lorraine started dating, as the veterinarian has always been private about his relationships.

‘It’s hard to meet the right person,’ Chris told Stellar magazine when asked about his dating life.

It’s one thing to be in a relationship where things are settled, but finding that person in the first place is the difficult part. Imagine being on a first date and having cameras flashing – that’s the reality when there’s so much public interest and guessing about your love life.

Lorraine is a mother of at least two children, including a 10-year-old son, but she prefers to keep her family life private.

Last February, Lorraine suggested she was seeing someone new when she shared a video of herself lip-syncing to Beyoncé’s song, “Cuff It.”

‘Cuff it’ is a slang term for getting into a committed relationship.

A month later, she posted a photo—taken by a friend—of herself enjoying the northern lights in Tromsø, Norway, while standing in the snow.

Chris didn’t appear, but his voice could be heard in the background of another video she posted.

The Dancing with the Stars host also uploaded photos from the same location at about the same time.

They are keeping their relationship offline for now, despite it being an open secret.
