David Tennant, famous for playing Doctor Who, is coming back for a new story! It’s being described as a thrilling and fast-paced adventure, but fans are wondering which version of the Doctor he’ll be playing this time.
The actor is returning to play the Tenth Doctor, a role he famously performed on television from 2005 to 2010. He’ll be continuing the character in a new 15-episode audio series called Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures, produced by Big Finish Productions.
The first twelve hour-long episodes will be released every other month starting in the summer of 2027. The final three episodes will be available together as a set, with the release date announced later.

It’s surprisingly simple with Big Finish,” Tennant explained in a statement. “You just show up, enjoy yourself, and before you know it, you’ve saved the universe – again!” He previously returned to the role in a televised appearance back in 2013.
Nicholas Briggs, Creative Director at Big Finish, explained that they’re always hoping David will be available to join them. He’s a very popular and busy actor, and it’s often difficult for him to fit studio work into his schedule.

We’re thrilled to have new stories to share, and we’re especially excited to see this character return! Prepare for a wild ride with these new adventures – they’re quick-paced, humorous, and sometimes frightening audio dramas packed with surprises from the beginning.
Currently, the plot of the new audio drama is unknown. However, a recent announcement confirms that the Tenth Doctor will join forces with other versions of himself during an adventure across the galaxy.
You can order the series in advance on the Big Finish website. They offer different bundles, from three to twelve episodes. Each episode costs £9.99 individually, but buying the whole series is slightly more cost-effective.

David Tennant made a comeback to Doctor Who in 2023, unexpectedly playing the Fourteenth Doctor after Jodie Whittaker’s departure. Ncuti Gatwa took over the role after him, but it’s currently unknown who will be the next Doctor.
Despite this, fans are still speculating that David Tennant might return, and many believe he could team up with Billie Piper in the Christmas special coming later this year.
New adventures featuring the Tenth Doctor are coming soon, though a release date hasn’t been announced yet. You can watch Doctor Who on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ internationally. In the UK, classic Doctor Who episodes are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
