The Disney Lorcana trading card game is releasing a new 2-Player Starter Set featuring Pixar characters from the latest expansion, Wilds Unknown. This set includes two complete, ready-to-play decks and everything else you need to begin playing the game, making it perfect for newcomers.
So, Ravensburger is adding Pixar to Lorcana! This new Starter Set is all about the Wilds Unknown set, and it brings in characters, places, and items from all your favorite Pixar movies. Honestly, Lorcana has evolved since the first set came out, so if you took a break, this Starter Set is a really easy way to get back into the game and see what’s new. It’s a great starting point or a way to refresh your deck!
What’s Included In Wilds Unknown 2-Player Starter Set
The new 2-player Starter Set for Disney Lorcana: Wilds Unknown includes the following:
- 2 ready-to-play decks
- 2 deck boxes
- 13 tokens
- 2 Lore trackers
- 1 rulebook
Every deck includes 60 cards, and each one also has 2 shiny, foil cards included within that 60. These foil cards are:
- Mrs. Incredible, Super Stretchy
- Buzz Lightyear, On the Way
- Jessie, Lively Cowgirl
- Jack-Jack Parr, Incredible Potential
The game’s rulebook explains the details of how to play clearly, and helpful video tutorials are also available online for those who prefer to learn visually. The deck boxes come in two designs: one featuring Mrs. Incredible and the other with Buzz Lightyear. Plus, both decks use two different ink colors, which adds variety and encourages players to try new strategies.
Pixar Cards Highlight Two Excellent Decks
The new card decks from Pixar are a great addition! This release includes two decks: Amber/Emerald and Amethyst/Ruby. The Amber/Emerald deck features characters from Toy Story, as well as archers and explorers like Merida. The Amethyst/Ruby deck brings together the superheroes from The Incredibles with other Disney characters who are there to help.
The addition of Pixar characters to Disney Lorcana is exciting, and it’s good to see both new decks featuring them prominently. There are still lots of characters from classic Disney films to discover, too. I personally preferred the Amethyst/Ruby deck, likely because I’m a big fan of The Incredibles.
Is Disney Lorcana’s New 2-Player Starter Set Worth It?
I tested this out with someone new to Disney Lorcana, helping them understand the rules and answering their questions as we played. It was a really helpful way to learn, and we both enjoyed it. They found the Amber/Emerald deck easier to play with, so that might be a good starting point depending on your experience with Lorcana.
If you’re just getting into Disney Lorcana, this Starter Set is a great place to begin. Even if you already play, it’s a good way to add two ready-to-play decks to your collection. Just keep in mind these decks are designed for new players. Ultimately, whether this set is right for you depends on your experience level, but it’s perfect for beginners looking to jump in.
If you’re interested in starting to play Disney Lorcana, this is a fantastic set to begin with. The Wilds Unknown set is currently available for pre-release and will be officially released worldwide on May 15, 2026.
