They too, are delving into a realm filled with pirates, swaying palm trees, and the vast, azure expanse of the ocean that stretches out endlessly beyond.

6. Mass Effect: Legendary Edition

Many found the “Mass Effect” series their initial foray into the realm of Role-Playing Games (RPGs), boasting an inviting atmosphere for newcomers yet providing depth that seasoned players could enjoy. In establishing a contemporary fantasy world that feels authentic and shapes the narrative, Dragon Age: Origins laid the groundwork which Pillars of Eternity and subsequently Avowed would eventually emulate.

As much as Obsidian might resist it, there’s no denying that Fallout: New Vegas will cast a shadow over Avowed in some way. Whether it’s the immersive first-person viewpoint, the depth of character companions, the challenging rogue’s gallery of monsters, or the intricate world building, these elements are bound to leave their mark on Avowed. It’s a tall order for any game to match the greatness of Fallout: New Vegas, but that’s just how it goes.
