Devil Wears Prada 2 teaser sees Anne Hathaway being mercilessly ridiculed by Emily Blunt

A teaser for the new Devil Wears Prada 2 trailer was shared on Sunday morning.

A new 30-second trailer from 20th Century Studios features the return of the original cast, including Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci.

Several images flash on the screen of the stars in the fashion capital of the US: New York City.

The scene includes a conversation where Emily Charlton, Miranda Priestly’s critical editor known for her fiery red hair, sharply criticizes Andy Sachs for her appearance.

It’s been two decades since the characters last interacted. This movie continues the story from the original Devil Wears Prada, which came out in 2006.

In a meeting, Blunt observes to Hathaway, ‘You seem much more self-assured now.’ She adds with a smile, ‘But you still have the same eyebrows, right?’

Hathaway’s character looks both shocked and put off.

Okay, so let’s talk about the drama unfolding in the world of high fashion! The storyline centers around Miranda Priestly – Meryl Streep, of course – and her complicated relationship with her former assistant, Emily. Now, Emily’s climbed the corporate ladder and is actually competing with Miranda for ad revenue. It’s a really interesting power struggle, especially because the print media world is changing so rapidly and Miranda’s also thinking about what retirement might look like. It’s all about navigating a shifting landscape and the challenges that come with it – both professionally and personally.

From what I’m hearing, Charlton’s really made a name for himself – he’s now a top executive at a major luxury brand, and let me tell you, they have a serious advertising budget. Apparently, Priestly is really hoping to get in good with him because of it. It’s all about who has the funding in this industry, you know?

The director is David Frankel and the release date is May 1, 2026 in the US.

Another teaser was shared in November.

The video featured Madonna’s song “Vogue” and opened with Priestly confidently walking down the hallway wearing red Valentino Rockstud pumps.

The montage also featured a bottle of champagne popping and flashes of a fashion show.

The rest of the preview features Andy and Miranda in the Runway magazine elevator. As the doors close, Miranda turns to Andy and says, ‘Took you long enough.’

Priestly came across as very harsh in the first movie, but a quick conversation suggests their relationship has become more relaxed since then.

Andy responded with a warm smile and put on large black sunglasses, clearly referencing the iconic style of Priestly.

Within minutes, the post was flooded with comments from ecstatic fans.

‘I CAN NOT WAIT. Ugh, May, so long,’ one wrote.

Another added, ‘Simply ICONIC! Happy birthday queen – you know how this THRILLS us.’

A third gushed, ‘SCREAMED SO LOUD.’

The next movie is scheduled to come out in May 2026, which will be 20 years after the first film showed viewers the glamorous but competitive world of high fashion.

There were rumors that Emily Blunt’s character in the first movie was based on Victoria ‘Plum’ Sykes, a former writer for Vogue, but Sykes has repeatedly denied this.

Many believe the character of Priestly is based on Anna Wintour, the longtime editor-in-chief of American Vogue, who recently announced her retirement after 37 years in the position.

The film The Devil Wears Prada was a huge success, but it became more than that – it truly impacted our culture. Meryl Streep’s portrayal of Miranda Priestly quickly became legendary, and the film sparked a widespread fascination with fashion, even inspiring its now-famous catchphrase, ‘That’s all.’

Oh my gosh, you guys, it was amazing! It actually got nominated for two Oscars, and Meryl – Meryl Streep! – was nominated for Best Actress! And it wasn’t just the Oscars, she won a Golden Globe for it, too! Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, can you believe it? I was screaming! It was everything.

The show received five BAFTA nominations and three Golden Globe nominations, and is now considered one of the most important comedies of the 2000s.

David Frankel will direct the sequel, and Aline Brosh McKenna will write the script, just as they did with the first movie.

The Devil Wears Prada is based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger and was published in 2003.

I’m so excited to share that the story has now been adapted into a Broadway musical! Vanessa Williams absolutely shines as Miranda Priestly, and the music? It’s all Elton John – seriously incredible. It’s a fantastic way to experience the story in a whole new light.
