Lola Sheen, daughter of Denise Richards, posted a touching message on Monday remembering Patrick Muldoon, who recently passed away.
According to Variety, the actor best known for his role on Days of Our Lives passed away at his Beverly Hills home on Sunday at the age of 57 due to a heart attack.
Per TMZ, Muldoon’s girlfriend found him unconscious in their home and called 911.
Neil Richards, 55, and Casper Van Dien’s co-star, dated for three years after they met while filming Starship Troopers in 1997. They stayed good friends even after ending their relationship in 2000.
Lola, 20, took to Instagram to share a paparazzi photo of her mom and Muldoon together in a car.
She wrote lovingly about Muldoon, describing him as being like family and sharing that she used to ask her mother to get back together with him.
Oh my gosh, I was watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills back in 2019, and Kyle Richards was talking about her amazing, lifelong friendship with Kim Muldoon! It was so sweet, and I’ve been obsessed with their history ever since!
I’ve been friends with Patrick Muldoon since I was 19. We have a silly habit of calling each other “schweet babe” – it started when we were both giving nicknames to everyone on the set of Starship Troopers.
She also shared that she and Richards had a temporary falling out during her marriage to Charlie Sheen, with whom she has two daughters, Sami and Lola, aged 27 and Lola respectively.
Richards is also mother to Eloise Joni Richards, 14, whom she adopted in 2011.
In a March 2025 episode of her reality show, ‘Denise Richards & Her Wild Things,’ Richards revealed that she and Pat didn’t talk while she was married to Charlie.
It was really tough, honestly, because I valued his friendship so much and didn’t want to lose that. But as things were falling apart, I found myself constantly talking to him – about him. It was like I was trying to understand what was going on inside his head, even as we were drifting apart.
After Richards separated from Sheen in 2006, she reconnected with Muldoon, and they remained friends throughout her subsequent seven-year marriage to Aaron Phypers, from whom she is now separated.
In a heartfelt tribute to Muldoon, Lola wrote that she always believed he would be a permanent part of their lives.
Thinking about my childhood always brings you to mind, Pat, and it’s going to be really strange not having you around anymore, she said.
We’ll miss you terribly – you were like family, and things won’t ever be quite the same without you. That’s simply because you touched so many lives and taught us all how to truly live. Thank you for everything.
Lola also gushed that Muldoon was the ‘definition of what it means to have fun.’
She fondly remembered a trip they took with her mother, recalling how he kept singing the song ‘Lola’ to her and making her laugh uncontrollably. She added that whenever she hears that song, it always reminds her of him.
She went on to say, ‘I’m going to miss hearing my mom laugh when she talks to you.’ She added that his voice always made her day better, and while she’d miss it, she knew her mom would miss it even more. They promised to always keep his memory alive by talking about him.
She posted a picture of her mother with Muldoon, along with a heartfelt message about their family’s long friendship with him.
Lola expressed her gratitude, telling Muldoon he was a wonderful friend to her daughter. She appreciated how he always knew how to make her laugh and help her escape her troubles, calling it a special talent. Lola then mentioned the close bond Muldoon shared with Richards, her mother.
‘The bond you two had was something so special, that no one can touch,’ Lola wrote.
My mom and you are always linked in my mind. You two came into each other’s lives as a pair, and I’m so grateful I had the chance to get to know you and see such a genuine and wonderful friendship blossom.
She mentioned she used to tell her mom—and probably me, too—that we’d get back together, jokingly, but she now thinks it’s good we remained close friends instead.
She finished by saying, “You were amazing, Pat, and I’ll always remember you. Enjoy yourself, I know you will. I love you.”
