Demi Moore says Hollywood has to ‘find ways’ to work with AI, not fight it

Demi Moore has shared her thoughts on the increasing use of AI in Hollywood, suggesting that actors and other performers should adapt to and utilize the new technology rather than resist it.

During a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, Moore explained his belief that opposing new technologies only creates further resistance. He stated that artificial intelligence is already here to stay, and trying to fight it would be a losing battle. Instead, he believes it’s more productive to explore ways to collaborate with AI and find beneficial applications.

Moore also believes there’s no need to worry about AI becoming dominant, as he thinks it will never be able to replicate the core of what makes art meaningful.

Moore explained that true creativity stems from within – from the very essence of everyone present and all creators. He believes this inner spark can’t be duplicated by technology alone.

Director and actor Ben Affleck isn’t the only established Hollywood figure seeing potential in combining filmmaking with artificial intelligence. He started his own AI-focused company, InterPositive, in 2022, becoming fascinated with how AI could improve film production. Netflix acquired the company in March. InterPositive aims to create AI tools designed by filmmakers themselves, giving them more creative options through new technology.
