‘Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is the Second Highest Rated MCU Disney+ Series

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again has quickly become a fan favorite and one of the best-received seasons of Marvel’s Disney+ shows. It follows Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as he organizes a fight against the corrupt Mayor Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), who is trying to eliminate all vigilantes in the city. The season premiered on March 24th and will conclude on May 5, 2026, with a special presentation, The Punisher: One Last Kill, arriving the following week.

The new season of Daredevil: Born Again is receiving very positive reviews, earning a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 69 critics. This is even better than the first season, which had an 87% rating. Currently, it’s the second highest-rated Marvel series on Disney+ according to Rotten Tomatoes, surpassed only by Ms. Marvel (98% from 311 reviews).

How Does ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Stack Up Compared to the Other MCU Television Series?

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is receiving critical praise, nearly matching the high scores of Daredevil Seasons 1 and 3 (99% and 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, respectively). It also surpassed the 87% rating of Daredevil Season 2 (which tied with Born Again Season 1). Across all five seasons, the Daredevil franchise within the Marvel Cinematic Universe averages a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Notably, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has a higher Rotten Tomatoes score than any other series within The Defenders Saga, including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and the Defenders miniseries.

The new Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again has received higher ratings than popular Marvel shows like WandaVision, Loki Season 1, and Hawkeye, all of which have a 92% approval rating. However, those three shows have significantly more reviews than Daredevil: Born Again. This is a positive step after the relatively poorly received Secret Invasion, which currently has the lowest score of any Marvel Disney+ series at 52%. Other Disney+ Marvel shows featuring Daredevil, Echo and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, have received scores of 71% and 79% respectively.

Although Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 currently has only 69 reviews, its rating will likely change over the next few weeks. Still, the positive response to Wonder Man earlier this year (91%) is encouraging for Marvel Television. Both shows, along with recent critical successes like Thunderbolts (88%), Ironheart (76%), The Fantastic Four: First Steps (86%), Eyes of Wakanda (92%), and Marvel Zombies (66%), suggest the Marvel Cinematic Universe is thriving. Despite talk of the MCU declining, this string of well-received projects should help build excitement for major 2026 releases such as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Vision Quest, and Avengers: Doomsday.
