Cowboy hats, more insults, and a Hall of Fame nod for Oasis

Getting nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame usually involves positive engagement, but Oasis has taken a different route. Despite publicly criticizing the Hall, they’ve still been nominated for the class of 2026 – marking their third year in a row as nominees.

I’m already expecting to see a lot of good news and hype around all the nominees this year, and I’m really happy to see Oasis get the nod! I think Noel and Liam Gallagher should be pleased too. Though, knowing Liam, he might say something a little…spicy. They might need to play nice if they want to actually get into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this time around.

I was absolutely thrilled when Oasis came back in 2025! It’s amazing they’ve been nominated – they totally deserved it. Seeing them return to the stage after so long – their first shows since 2009 – was incredible. The Oasis Live ’25 Tour was a massive success, and it felt like the band was back where they belonged.

The band had an incredibly successful tour, playing 41 sold-out shows and earning over $400 million. Around 2.5 million people attended the concerts, but many more wanted to – over 14 million in the UK and Ireland alone attempted to purchase tickets.

Oasis singer Liam Gallagher takes swipes at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Will Oasis maintain their current energy and achieve induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? The Gallagher brothers are known for being independent and saying what they think. Liam was critical of the nomination process last year, and he’s already started off on a similar note this time around.

Last year, when nominated for the Hall of Fame, Liam publicly criticized it on X.com. He stated he wasn’t interested in the award and dismissed the organization with a remark about being honored by an older person wearing a cowboy hat.

He continued his angry online outburst, posting, “F the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it’s full of idiots!” It’s unclear what he even meant by that insult, but it definitely wasn’t a compliment. To drive his point home, he added another post calling the Hall of Fame attendees something highly offensive. Liam doesn’t seem pleased about the nomination for 2026 either.

Oasis is once again nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, marking their third consecutive year as a contender. When informed of the nomination, Liam Gallagher jokingly responded, “Oh no, not again!” Despite his playful reluctance…

According to a post from the fan account OasisWorld, Liam initially reacted with, “Oh no, not again.” However, remembering past comments, he explained that he would happily join and celebrate if the team achieved success this time.

He seems more open to things this year, though it remains to be seen. Oasis had a successful year proving their comeback, and we can expect even more developments regarding their reunion soon.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame voting process includes input from fans, music industry professionals, and journalists. This suggests past controversies surrounding the brothers are unlikely to significantly impact the outcome. However, considering their history, it’s hard to rule out another public dispute.
