A new trailer has been released for season two of Sterling K. Brown’s sci-fi thriller, Paradise. The show was quickly renewed for a second season last February, even before the first season had finished airing.
I just finished learning about this new show, Paradise, and it sounds amazing! It’s set after some kind of huge disaster has made the surface world unlivable. Apparently, the story focuses on a peaceful community formed by the most important people from before – they all had to escape and live together in an underground bunker to survive. I’m really intrigued to see how it all plays out!
The first season follows Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Brown) as he’s investigated after the President (James Marsden) unexpectedly dies. While trying to figure out what really happened, Collins discovers surprising secrets about the world beyond his secure work environment and about his wife, Teri (Enuka Okuma), who he left at home.

The trailer for season two continues the story right after the first season’s ending. Xavier travels to Atlanta to find his wife, but his journey is filled with trouble – the trailer shows a plane crash happening during his search.
The story isn’t just about the safety of the bunker. Xavier ventures out to find Teri and discovers how people have been living for the past three years after the catastrophic event known as ‘The Day’. Meanwhile, things fall apart within the seemingly perfect city of Paradise, and its hidden history begins to come to light.
After the crash, Xavier meets a woman (Shailene Woodley) who has somehow survived on Earth since the world ended. She’s curious about the bunker he came from, and he describes it as familiar, but unsettlingly eerie.
As the search for Teri continues, the situation at the enclosure rapidly deteriorates, threatening to erupt into full-scale conflict. Samantha ‘Sinatra’ Redmond, played by Julianne Nicholson, firmly states her commitment to defending everything she’s created.
Created by Dan Fogelman, the mind behind This Is Us, the show has received positive reviews, earning an 86% score on Rotten Tomatoes from 80 critics. Inverse highlighted its clever science fiction elements.
In a review for Digital Spy, the series Paradise was called “shockingly addictive.” The reviewer explained that even when you think you’re done with the show, it pulls you back in, making you want to watch “just one more episode” to find out what happens and why.
SSG Syndicate called the series “the most exciting new drama of 2025,” praising its blend of a science fiction, post-apocalyptic setting and a gripping mystery.
Paradise returns to Disney+ on 23 February.
