Merge Tactics is launching a new update in February 2026 for Clash Royale. This seasonal update will reintroduce a popular Ruler, update how core modifiers work, and add a new way for players to earn competitive badges.
February’s update doesn’t introduce new units or abilities, but improvements to how bonuses and character development work are a great benefit. Here’s a rundown of everything happening in the February season of Merge Tactics.
Clash Royale Merge Tactics February 2026 Update explained
New Badge System
Merge Tactics is getting a new competitive badge system this February! Players who rank in the top 1,000 at the end of the season will earn a special badge showing where they finished on the leaderboard.
The Spirit Empress has returned! 👑 If you finish in the top 1,000 players this February, your badge will display your rank. Learn more about the February season in Merge Tactics from your favorite content creator! ✨

You’ll keep this badge forever, and it will automatically show your highest rank from any future seasons, letting you always display your best results.
Returning Ruler: Spirit Empress and new Cosmetics
Spirit Empress is back in Starsteel Road after a season off, and she’s February’s featured Ruler! Her special ability, Fusion Foresight, helps players who like to merge often by giving them +1 Elixir each time they do.
If you didn’t get the Spirit Empress when she first came out, you’ll have another opportunity to unlock her this season. You can earn Ruler Cards by playing, and use them to unlock her cosmetics without spending any money.
In February, players who have already leveled up their character will receive extra cosmetic rewards as they continue to progress. These include new skins like Ivy Empress, Auric Empress, Starry Strike, Inferno Empress, and Wushi Empress, as well as the Flaming Fury confetti effect.
You can also get the Wushi Empress skin—which includes Spirit Empress riding the Spirit Dragon—from the Merge Tactics Ruler Skins Shop.
February 2026 Season Modifiers and Adjusted Modifiers
February brings three new features that give you extra benefits for combining troops effectively, building up your army, and strategically increasing star levels.
| Modifier | League | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Star Advantage | Bronze III | Higher-Star troops deal more damage to and take less damage from lower-Star troops |
| Domination | Silver I | 3-Star and 4-Star troops gain bonus HP and damage |
| Merge Bonus | Gold III | Each merge grants a 1-Star base troop of the merged unit |
Several existing modifiers have also been reworked this season.
- Building modifiers now grant a 3-Star building in Round 5, instead of a 2-Star building at the start of Round 3.
- Tile modifiers now spawn two tiles at the start of battle, doubling their early impact and opening up more positioning options right from Round 1.
