Clash Royale Just Made Unlocking Heroes Way Easier — Here’s What Changed

Supercell has completely overhauled the Hero system in the latest Clash Royale update. The rework was launched on March 16.

In Clash Royale, the way you get new Heroes has changed. Previously, you needed 200 Hero Fragments for a random Hero. Now, you collect 200 Hero Coins and choose the specific Hero you want.

Players Now Unlock Heroes Using A New Currency

You can unlock new Heroes by going to the ‘Card Forms’ section within the ‘Collection’ tab, and then choosing the Hero you want.

We’re releasing a big update in mid-March! Maintenance will begin shortly to introduce exciting new features.

Here’s what’s new:

Hero Unlocks:
– We’re giving away 200 free Hero Coins to players in Arena 5 and above!
– You’ll now be able to choose exactly which Heroes you want to unlock – no more random picks.
– New Heroes will be available to unlock right when they’re released.

Deck Slots:
– We’ve adjusted the number of Special Card slots from 4 to 3.

You can get Hero Coins through the seasonal Pass Royale and special events. You can hold up to 200 Hero Coins at once. If you earn more than that, the extra coins will automatically turn into Gems – one Hero Coin becomes one Gem.

You can check your Hero Coin balance by going to the Magic Items section.

After this update, players who’ve already unlocked Heroes will have three months to get 200 Hero Coins. If you haven’t unlocked a Hero yet, you’ll receive 200 Hero Coins once you reach Arena 5.

Just so everyone knows, the recent update to Clash Royale changed Hero Fragments to Hero Coins. Now, you can directly choose which Hero you want, instead of getting them randomly. To use a Hero in battle, you’ll still need to include a card in either the Hero Slot or Wild Slot of your deck.
